What a fantastic place we where so lucky to go with Nigel and Penny Powis. The food and accomodation was outstanding. Hilary you have a stunning homely place so tranquil.

A very special place. Delicious food and super relaxing. The only noise is from the birds that are in abundance at The Mudlark, and the occasional boat going past. Fishing is fantastic and going out on the little boats for a cruise upriver is fun. My kids love it and at low tide have the most fun playing in the mud. Plenty of space for them to explore and the beach is 5min down the road toward the river mouth. The wildlife was an unexpected treat, a zebra has taken up residence in the field behind the house with a donkey & a Bontebok. Hilary's garden is stunning, and if you are lucky enough to be there when the Aloes are flowering even better. Our highlight was going down to the beach to watch the Whales. Thanks Hilly & Timmy for making our holiday memorable.

We have been coming here for decades and the ambiance, food quality and general welcoming feel have remained constant and never disappointed. Meters from the river, surrounded by an indigenous garden full of bird life and with views of the farmland across the the river, three or four days spent here will make world events trivial and one cant help leaving with a tinge of regret. But then there is always next time...

A wonderful destination to rest, enjoy excellent food, stunning river views and a spectacular beach. The fishing is also very rewarding. 90% of guests are returning visitors.

Peaceful, right on the Breede River, abundant birdlife and excellent food. Hilary and Tim are wonderful hosts and Hilary's cooking is superb. Highly recommend, especially those that love fishing. A very chilled and special place.
