Umlani Bushcamp

We had an amazing experience staying at Umlani in the middle of the bush. The rooms are rustic, but in good condition and in a nice typical African style. The food was good and tasty, we liked it to be seated with the other guests as it was a nice way to get to know each other quickly as you spend quite some time together (during the game drives). The animals are of course the highlight, it’s just amazing to see so many different species and being so close to the action. The rangers are exceptional, always on the look out to find the most animals. The other staff was also super friendly, all so passionate and lovely. We also had the opportunity to spent one night in their treehouse, which was absolutely amazing and a once in a lifetime opportunity. We’d absolutely come back and recommend this camp!

Lovely experience with UMLANI! Food was tastefull, rooms clean, extremely friendly staff always accomodating to make your stay the best. Additionally, the rangers are exceptionally finding animals driving off-road, will be the time of your life! Every day brings something new. Highly recommended.

I was not sure what to expect when we arrived there and honestly a bit scared once we were briefed about all the security measures regarding the animals around us.The experience was incredible and I will never forget it !The staff is amazing and we felt part of their family.The food was incredible.And the most important, the game drives were perfect. We have seen more animals than we expected to see and even if we thought we have seen everything we had new surprises at each drive.Sleeping one night at the three house was an experience that I recommend to each guest staying at the lodge. I thought I could not do it and simply loved the experience that I will never forget.Micaela Schiess is an amazing person and took care of making our stay unforgettable even preparing a surprise romantic dinner and birthday cake for Rapha’s late birthday celebration.Amos and Clarence our rangers are very experienced and made sure we felt safe during our game drives.We will never forget this life time experience and can't wait to do it again !Thank you guys !

I’m stayed here years ago and loved the simplicity, friendliness, skill of the ranger and general feel of the camp. I wonderful experience that I’m hoping will be as magical when I visit with my family later this year.

What an incredible place. Amazing Amazing Amazing. 100% you need to stay here. Our guide for the morning and afternoon safari's was a guy called Elvis, he was amazing. The food was beautiful, and all the staff was incredible, so so friendly. I really hope i get to come back here one day. Thankyou to everyone involved in making our stay so perfect.

It is a really nice small camp, with great service and lots of nice animals near by. I can really recommend it.

We had the best stay at Umlani while my husband and I were there this past October! The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. It's such a peaceful place to relax, until (happily) interrupted by the occasional sightings at their on-site watering hole! Not to mention the sightings we encountered on game drives (all the big 5 and more)! Amos and Ephraim were the best ranger and tracker team. They were so knowledgeable, we learned so much! Their food was also fantastic, we looked forward to every meal and late night chats around the fire. We would highly recommend Umlani, we had such a lovely stay and hope to get back there soon!

Umlani is a rustic African bush camp perfect for those looking for affordable South African safari adventures. We'll absolutely come back. Thank you so much for this memorable experience.
