Target Carlingford
Store name (if relevant): Target Carlingford courtDetail of query:I had an extremely poor customer service experience at your Carlingford store today. I went there with my son to buy some toys. I brought the toys and paid for them at one of the check out register near the center court. I walked out of the store as that is where the exit led us. But since we had parked our car at the back, I had to re enter the store to reach the car park. On my way out, I was stopped by your staff and she demanded me to show her a receipt of purchase. I was carrying all the toys in my hand and i was also holding my toddler's hand. I felt overwhelmed by her request but still showed her the proof of purchase. After putting the toys in my car, I came back and I asked her why she demanded a proof of purchase and why this policy wasn't displayed publicly. She had no answer to this question except she kept repeating it was told to her by her manager. She later called her manager and before the manager came your staff started crying creating an unnecessary drama to gain sympathy from your manager.Your manager was extremely rude ( his eyes were red and he was furious at me), he couldn't show me any document which stated that people are asked to show proof of purchase. Your manager asked me to leave the shop. He blamed me and said I was yelling at your staff. My voice is loud and I was asking the facts, which was to show me a notice which alerted customers to keep the proof of purchase. I wasn't yelling at anyone. The manager instead of resolving the situation, made me leave the store. It seems as if your staff likes to gain sympathy by crying, I could have also cried. I was also managing a toddler, holding multiple things in my hands and I was harassed by your staff. I didn't use any abusive language, I wasn't even physically violent, I simply demanded to see a properly displayed notice which showed customers have to provide receipt on exit. I think as a customer, it is my right to know where this policy is written and why it wasn't displayed at the exit door. I am not sure why your staff started crying- it seems the staff is too weak to handle any customer complaint. Being a young mum to a toddler, everything was overwhelming to me. Instead of your staff, I should have cried because as a woman it is easy to cry and gain sympathy. This is one of the most shocking and extremely poor experience I have had in Australia.I have no hesitation to show the receipt but this should have been openly displayed at your store. Couple of scenarios where I may not have been able to display the receipt:1) I was with a toddler and i wasn't carrying any bag to keep things in it. Hence I was carrying toys in my hand. I could have easily lost the receipt somewhere.2) Since I wasn't aware to keep the receipt with myself all the time while going through Target, I could have chucked the receipt on my way out ( which I normally do ) because I don't like to keep collecting unwanted receipts. In this case, I was never going to return the toys hence the receipt was of anyways no use to me.It seems as if your staff is told to target certain type of people and ask them to show a receipt of purchase. If you are that concerned about people stealing things from the shops then you should really close your shops and only keep online shopping open. Install more cameras to find people who commit offence instead of bullying and harassing normal people. You have no right to offend people without any clear policies on display.I need a clear justification from Target to the above incident and why your manager asked me to leave the store and not solved my query. I want my complaint to be addressed by 23rd June 2023 close of business hours 5pm AEST.Thanks,

I went to pick up a click and collect from this store… the lady on the door was yelling out to another team member as I was walking into the store..this was roughly 11am, 18/4/23, she was also whinging to another staff member at registers.. after waiting for her to stop screeching across the door-way to someone else, I had to ask where click and collect was…she wasnt very helpful and just said upstairs.. this store needs more signage and more helpful staff!!The lady at the service desk was very pleasant and gave me my order and i was on my way..As i had ordered clothing I wanted to try it on before leaving the store. I headed to the fitting rooms and tried my item on along with another item.. whilst in changing, I was shocked to realise this team member was spraying glen 20 or similar, all around the cubicles, of which was going everywhere, this is NOT what you do when there are still people in the change rooms!! Please tell your staff to not do this, very unacceptable and just wrong.. I did mention this to her when I was existing the change room, I got a blank look of I dont care…I wont return to this store unless I am desperate for something. The store was clean and tidy, but that would only be because customers won't go there due to terrible customer service.

Large department store. They usually have sales, during which prices are dropped considerably. Fairly good selection of clothes for men and women. Staff are helpful.Good experience as expected at Target.

Very rude older lady on the registers. I politely asked to do a return and she chastised me and rudely told me off saying “you need to do returns upstairs. It’s been like that for years. I don’t know why you’ve come to me”This is not my normal store and as there is no obvious signage, so her attitude was very unexpected. The lady on the returns counter however was delightful, and should be commended for her excellent customer service

Quite possibly the only two floor Target in Sydney, this store always feels so spacious and comfortable to shop in, with a great range available. This was my first time click and collecting from this store, and the experience was seamless. I live on the central coast (where one of our two Targets was closed last year), and this store is much nicer than the remaining store.
