Stellenbosch University

I’ve gone through the profile of this university and like it so much. I wish there’s any privilege to attend this college as an aged person. I’m 63 on May 11th. Poverty never allowed me to do a post graduate studies. I studied Philosophy and African history at Fourah Bay College (FBC), university of Sierra Leone. I also taught Philosophy of Law to first year Law students at FBC.I now work as a Director of HR & Administration at the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) in Freetown Sierra Leone. But I’m of aged now and haven’t got money enough to sponsor any studies. Though I’m very interested in studying again as my brain is very sharp. If the university can offer a scholarship just to do my masters and Ph.D. Thanks so much.Degauleh Juana.

Nice uni, lots of international students. Been here as exchange student and would recommend it to everyone. Southafrica is beautiful.

The University of Stellenbosch is so infused into the town, it takes a Take-Two look, to know when you're on university or municipal property. But that's the charm of this formerly quaint, now bustling town. The various faculties & schools & departments are sprawled across a collection of varied buildings -- historical & more recent. Walking from one Department or Faculty to another is like transversing surreal worlds of colour & vibrancy. But it's youthfulness is apparent all over. The carefree sway of students, being shaped to be leaders of the land & the captains of Industry is inspiring to see. Stellenbosch University offers the reflective pause of our history (for those who choose to pause & reflect), the foundation of a culture, infused with the struggle to adapt to, and remain relevant of, the new SA reality. It is a vibrant conflict that reflect the contested identities of our nation. It is a wonderfully inspiring place, and a lively academic place of intellectual growth & research, which propels our nation's human capital. If ever a town was truly SAfrican, in spirit & learning, in demographics & language, in change & constancy, it is Stellenbosch, and the University of Stellenbosch, it's moniker and life force.

Great university dropped a lot of young black girls.If the university can deal away with racist building names and racism in general, it could be better for all.University does not recruit from it's area. That alone is a red flag. Black and coloured population around the varsity is excluded by the university intentionally.

Great atmosphere, vibrant young vibe. A great place for academics and you can fit in a social life.

Great well organised University in beautiful setting

Stellenbosch university is simply an aesthetics paradise. There are beautiful tree lining the roads and providing shades for pedestrians. The roads on campus are wide , well marked with signs and neatly maintained. The ambience is so serene that it's therapeutic when one takes a walk at any time of the day. Some of the buildings are classical while some are architectural masterpieces. To add to the delightful overview, there are beautiful mountains not far from the campus, producing an excellent picturesque background. It's a lovely place to be and will be a most conducive campus to study.
