Essenwood Park Hotel
Horrible service. On two occasions I arrived to be told that my allocated room had been given away because I didn’t answer the phone although I booked and confirmed a specific arrival time, they never waited till that time for me to arrive from the airport. Such a shame that they hire people like that for such a convenient place. Anyway, would definitely not recommend, they aren’t reliable

Shower doors were dirty (and shower was in the room-not bathroom- as suggested by the picture when booking), painting on ceiling looked incomplete, no hand towels or kettle. When we arrived we were told to park outside as there was a function and restaurant guests were occupying all the parking spaces in the premises. Once they finished their new years eve party then I'd have to come out of my room ro park my car!

Only spent the one night, they have wifi available for guests. For some reason, the only channel that played properly on the tv was the soccer replays one.

Im so disappointed. Hotel harboring kidnappers and can't reveal their identity cause they didnt book them according to booking regulations. Two people kindnaped and flushed off their bank accounts and had their possessions stollen from them buy a guest in this hotel.

The rooms are clean and spacious but some of the staff members are rude and unfriendly. A lady by the name of Nokuthula working at the restaurant had the most pathetic attitude. She dismissively told me the menu was on the table, sat on her chair, didn't even explain the ordering process. I had to go ask the gentlemen who braai for the restaurant to serve me.

Terrible terrible experience:1. My room stunk of smoke due to the room next to me smoking. This resulted in the linen and my belongings smelling of smoke. Such an unpleasant thing if you are not a smoker.2. People were extremely loud all through the night and into the morning. People were screaming, shouting and fighting in their rooms. This place also operates 24/7 so the noise does not stop!3. Cleanliness - I would give it a 4 out of 10.I highly DO NOT Recommend, unless you want a sleepless night.

Threadbare and noisy.The room was spartan and the fittings were basic and very worn. I paid R810 for the night and it was nowhere near worth it.Note the headboard, the bedside table, the shower that's actually in the bedroom. Not shown in the pic are the spills on the bedside table (I'm praying they were just coffee...)The place was noisy late into the night and early in the morning.Only Rocoffy and creamer to drink. Yuk.
