CPOA Thornton Place

Well run village, visit griend often, security is friendly and efficient - highly recommended as I have not met one resident who is not happy with the way it is run, own private beach area and well designed, it does not have the feeling you get with al the mass housing villages. Rent of buy there!

My parents moved there a few months ago, they love it there.

A very pleasant, well run, independant-living retirement village.

My Dad is not happy with the new caterer. The food tastes bad and the portions are very small. The residents are complaining but naught is happing. The pictures of the wonderfull looking meals in the proposal and promises made by cpoa and the caterer are gone. I feel that the residents are being mislead. Very sad that an organisation that call themselves retitement specialists would treat the elderly so bad.

Visiting a relative and noticed that her meal was delivered and was not being had in the canteen area. Also noticed that portion size was absolutely insufficient, given they now have to pay per meal.The residents will be affected financially, as this is now an additional cost ,excluding the levies paid. Further, the quality of life will definitely be affected,and it indirectly affects general well being. Residents are no longer as sociable as they were before, as eating at a table with your little community had clear health benefits. And those who cannot afford a meal per day, are now needing to cook and prep for days that they do not have a delivery. ...or opt not to eat.? On the point of cooking, This in itself is a difficult task, given the general age of some of the residents, the potential dangers of perhaps forgetting a stove that is on, and having to navigate the idea of getting up to cook a meal during loadshedding. Let's not forget that extra groceries shall have to be bought. Extra cost!What is going on with CPOA and how is an establishment that has historically had such a wonderful reputation, now finding itself in such poor form ? Thornton Place used to be admired and deemed amongst the sort after independent living options..how is any of this ok? For many of the residents this was the one comfort that was looked forward to...a full , hearty meal, with a soup starter, a slice of bread and a dessert. Theu could get away with perhaps keeping some of the lunch meal , for later.....But now....Please can the service provider in this instance be reviewed? And please can management please step up and speak to the powers that be at CPOA to understand the elderly here have contributed greatly to this country over the years and deserve so much better. ! I'm hugely disappointed...

Well run, nicely maintained, happy residential complex for the elderly. Good reputation.
