They know their stuff here - more than simply a financial transaction when you come to buy things, the knowledge store here is worth the visit. In terms of equipment, it would be nice if there was a wider varity, but everything you require to free dive is available and even if it isn't, they can source it for you.Lots of free advice about diving.

Did the 2 day level 1 course together with my girlfriend hosted by Jax and John. There both so lovely and great to learn from. Absolutely enjoyed every bit. Very well organized. Did not feel intimidated at all, however, I learned all about associated dangers and how to free dive safely. Total recommendation — you cannot go wrong here! Plus, great quality and very clean equipment.

I had a fantastic time with the team at Cape Town Freedivers. They were friendly and super happy to help, the course was informative and useful and the community is welcoming and friendly and incredibly passionate about the ocean. I felt part of the family immediately and what started with a simple 2 day course has turned into complete love for the ocean, where I now spend most of my weekends (and the occasional week day too). Thank you to the team for an A+ experience!

Did the adventure freediving 1 course, held over 2 days.Absolutely top notch instruction from Ross. From the theory through to practical in-water sessions, as well as safety aspects, it far exceeded all expectations.I can highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to improve their knowledge and enjoyment or get an introduction to the world of freediving.

Absolute recommendation! My girlfriend and I had booked snorkelling in the Kelp Forest. We were lucky with the weather that day and had perfect conditions and a small group.JP gave us a very good briefing and also explained a lot of background information. He also gave us the freedom to snorkel and freedive freely in the Kelp Forest. He always kept an eye on us and gave us an extra feeling of security. A perfect start into the day!

I bought this course for my girlfriend for her Birthday and we both absolutely loved it. I was skeptical as to how much a 2 day course could change my under water abilities, but it really was immense. John was also a fantastic instructor. Honestly cannot recommend this enough.

Unfortunately I didn’t have the best experience with this company and I wouldn’t recommend this place to learn freediving. Luckily before going there I’ve had my international course complete in Molchanovs school in another country and I have something to compare with.First thing I didn’t like - two intense days of lessons in a row are not good for learning, as body gets exhausted after first day of being in cold water for 2,5 hours. And then you have to do it next day again. Plus you learn theory on these days as well. Also driving there took me 3 hours a day.Second - doesn’t matter what’s the weather, you’ll still go diving. I wasn’t lucky and it was windy plus the ocean wasn’t calm at all. Dirty water and poor visibility. What you see in their pics in social media - forget it, you might not see anything at all underneath. You won’t even see your teacher 3 meters away. Second day we were diving by ship docks in a super dirty water.Third part - attitude of the owner. I couldn’t complete my second day due to being sick. I actually came, but I wasn’t efficient during the lesson and couldn’t fully perform what instructor asked us. A day before I’ve swallowed too much of dirty water from waves being in my face constantly, so I had upset stomach from it and have spent all night in a bathroom. Obviously I couldn’t even have a breakfast before diving.I couldn’t stay till the end of the days and I’ve leftI asked instructor if I can come another day with any of their next groups to finish the course and he said that I should discuss it with Daniela.I wrote her an email and she said that I have to pay 550 rand to complete the course as “We unfortunately don’t have the luxury to make our instructors or our own time available free of charge. Nobody works for free, not even when they love what they do” - that’s what she said.I got so disappointed with that attitude. I didn’t ask anybody to work for free, I paid for course a full amount and I’m sure they could easily add me to another group in a future. It’s not like I missed a lesson deliberately, I came for the lesson but unfortunately was really sick, weak and I’ve left. And it would be nice if they’d let me finish the course. But no! Pay more and then we’ll let you!Reply to the comment:While you are spending too much time writing long text about “continuous reassurance, encouragement, immense understanding, compassion and patience, motivation and support” and giving me passive aggression vibes, you’ve missed the whole point of my complaint.I just got sick on the second day and I’ve left earlier and asked you to have a chance to finish course by joining another group on their second day.But you asked me to pay more, saying nobody works for free, despite the fact I’ve already paid 3300 for two days course. As simple as it is. Clearly we have different opinions on this matter which is ok. I just wrote my review to help people with the same opinion as me. That’s what google reviews are for, no need for drama

It was really cool to snorkel through the kelp forrest. Saw some amazing details and even had some space to go a bit deeper to watch some coral/underwater stuff up close. Would recommend booking with Cape Town Freediving. Important to keep track of the weather conditions. But was worth the wait!
