I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kapama Private Game Reserve, and I must say it was a truly exceptional experience. From the luxurious accommodations to the delicious dining options, the rejuvenating spa treatments, and the thrilling 3 hours game drives, Kapama Private Game Reserve exceeded all my expectations.Accommodation:The accommodation at Kapama Private Game Reserve was nothing short of breathtaking. I stayed in one of their stunning River Lodge Deluxe Suites on the 1st floor , which was beautifully designed with a perfect blend of luxury and Modern African-inspired aesthetics. The spacious room was equipped with all modern amenities, including air conditioning, a comfortable bed, a private balcony overlooking the bushveld, and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bathtub and a rain shower. The attention to detail and the level of comfort provided truly made me feel pampered and indulged throughout my stay. Kedibone, our housekeeper ensure our room was spick and span throughout or stay.Restaurants:The breakfast, lunch and dining options and Xitsumbeni restaurant were exquisite. They served a variety of mouthwatering dishes, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. The culinary team at the lodge crafted delicious meals that catered to different dietary requirements and preferences. From sumptuous breakfast spreads to delectable lunches and dinners, every meal was a treat for the taste buds. The service was impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff who surprised me with a custom complementary cake and a song for my birthday ensuring that I had a memorable dining experience.Spa:The spa at Kapama Private Game Reserve was a sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation. Nestled in the heart of the bushveld, the spa offered a serene and tranquil setting where I could unwind and indulge in a range of spa treatments. The skilled therapists used natural and organic products, and their expert hands left me feeling refreshed and revitalized. The swimming pool at the spa overlooks the river that runs throughout the lodge, perfect for that Instagram moment.Game Drives:The game drives at Kapama Private Game Reserve were an absolute highlight of my stay. Led Thabo, Xandria and Quintin who knowledgeable and experienced guides, the game drives provided an up-close and personal encounter with Africa's iconic wildlife. From majestic elephants to graceful giraffes, lazy hippos and buffalos, horned rhinos, elusive leopards, and fierce lions, I was able to witness these animals in their natural habitat, creating unforgettable memories. The open safari vehicles provided excellent visibility, and the guides' passion for conservation and wildlife was evident in their informative commentary throughout the game drives. These game drives last for 3 hours with a chance to have a snack and drink in the wild and occur twice a dayOverall, my experience at Kapama Private Game Reserve was truly exceptional. The accommodations were luxurious, the restaurants served delicious meals, the spa was a haven of relaxation, and the game drives were thrilling and educational. The attentive and friendly staff, including our host Charles, ensured that every aspect of my stay was enjoyable, and I left with memories that will last a lifetime. I highly recommend Kapama Private Game Reserve for an unforgettable five-star safari experience in the heart of the African bushveld.

Absolutely fantastic stay. The staff were incredibley friendly and well trained. Philip the game ranger assigned to us for our stay was very knowledgeable and clearly very good at his job. We saw the big 5 on both our game drives!The lodge itself was stunning, amazing facilities and top class service. Mike our waiter for our stay was super funny and friendly, the food and drink was exceptional.Overall 5 star, couldn't find a single fault!

We had an amazing stay and the best holiday we could have asked for. Our guides Rico and Last were so friendly, knowledgeable and went out of their way to make it so memorable. Other staff like Gloria, the housekeepers and bar staff were brilliant.We saw everything on the Safari and more. Couldn't recommend a stay any more.

I would rate this 4.5.ALL the employees at Kapama were amazing.Starting of with the level of detail and personal attention given. I have never seen in a hotel thar up to the cleaners knew our name and our plans.The game drives were amazing John and Petraz were knowledgeable. We were lucky to spot all the big 5 twice!Furthermore, a lot of good premium drinks are included and even asked they make cocktails that are on the menu.The cleaning was perfect and always good.The only problem I experienced during my stay was the food/service at the restaurant. This was e.g. with lunch excellent and during dinner lacking.I had ordered my steak medium rare and came very cold. Once I notified the staff, they quickly offered to replace the dish. However, sadly they just reheated the steak and made it medium well-done, while the sauce came cold.The waiting time went sometimes really quick and good to wait and to waiting long.But, overall we had a great experience and the level of personal attention was amazing!

We had gone to South Africa for our honeymoon and decided to do a Safari at Kruger. There was a last minute change due to unforeseen's circumstances which changed are booking to kpama resorts. When we were going there the people who asked us where we were staying immediately started to rave about kapama when we told them. So on our journey there we were already getting a little excited and believe me it did not disappoint.As soon as we entered the property we were greeted by zebras and giraffe who were calmly walking around. The staff at the reception was very warm and welcoming. We stayed in the spa suite rooms.Overall the room was absolutely brilliant. There is no TV over there except for the bar and it was a welcome change because you got to spend time in nature instead of watching TV. The staff and reception throughout were brilliant.For all our breakfast lunches and dinner our Waitress was Gloria who was probably the sweetest lady that we met. She made sure that we always got food/drinks and what we wanted throughout our stay.Our safari was led By Thabo assisted by Zandry and Quinton (our spotter) who were exceptional. It was there calmness and attitude that allowed us to be calm even when we were a couple of feet away from a pride of lions or a rhino. They were so good at spotting animals by their call or by their footprints and they taught us so much about nature that you just go back in awe.We finished our last day at the place by taking a relaxing spa. My masseuse for the day was Olivia and she was very nice, calm and did a great job.I think if I had to summarise this is probably the best place that I have ever stayed in with the best food that I have ever eaten in a place. Every single dish aur drink that we ordered exceeded our expectations.I will definitely recommend this place to others and will myself be back again.Special Thanks again to Gloria, Thabo, Zandry and Quinton!

Heaven on earth.A true 5 stars safari experience - starting from the room, food, service, pool, bar - everything is beyond.Then comes the best part, the game drives, which are absolutely beautiful and fascinating.The rangers knowledge and proficiency was outstanding.Thank you Kapama stuff for everything ❤️

Kapama has it going on when it comes to options of accommodation, activities while exploring and enjoying the bush from a spoiled spa day, pool time with cocktails, great meal options, etc. The rooms are lovely and many with great views. Depending on the property that you stay at you can have different varied overnight experiences. Across the way from the airport. Just loved it!

This place is absolutely incredible. There was no aspect of the holiday that didn't blow us away! Our game rangers Collins and Niko made the game drives SO special. They are so knowledgeable and friendly, and made us feel at home right away. The accommodation was beautiful, the hospitality was so thoughtful and the food was pretty well the best I've ever had, every single meal! Our group was partly vegetarian and partly not, and every meal the restaurant staff remembered who needed the veggie menu. The vegetarian options are by no means a second thought either - everything was perfectly presented as well as delicious and Makhi the head chef came out and discussed the menu with us on several occasions, and he is absolutely an expert at what he does! We couldn't have been happier with the whole experience and will definitely be back one day. Thank you Kapama!

My husband and I had the privilege to go to Kapama River Lodge in September 2022 for our honeymoon and it was absolutely superb! Everything from the food, service, drinks, rooms and spa were and full 10. Unfortunately the weather was not in our favour when we where there and did not get to see a lot of animals but our guides were excellent and made sure we got to see the big five amongst other animals. The sun only came out on our last day in the lodge which was unfortunate because we did not get a chance to use their stunning pool. Both my husband and myself had such an amazing time and would love to go again

Game drives were great, saw the big 5 and more in just 2 game drives- the highlight being watching Lions trying to snag an impala in the evening drive. The accommodation is nice and comfortable with clean, well designed rooms. The guides and others are very hospitable. One downside noted was that there is a lack of options for vegetarians on the menu.
