If you were thinking about moving to Tyme Bank, DONT.I have had hundreds of fraudulent transactions impersonating a legitimate service provider going off my account within a matter of minutes. No help or explanation will be taking the case to the banking ombudsman.

Absolutely pathetic service. Made a transaction which in an emergency situation. Money went out but not to the recipient. Contact service not helpful.

TymeBank has placed my business account on hold for 2 weeks now. Every time I contact them they ask for a case number etc just for them to not get back to me. This bank is a joke! Please don’t use this untrustworthy bank

After blocking my account after my phone was stolen, I had to spend almost an hour on the phone to try and unblock it. General service was a joke. TymeBank seems to have some very dodgy information relating to my bureau and professional life, and I ended up failing the security questions. Now I need to go to a kiosk, call the call center again, wait an hour just to verify that I am not impersonating myself. I would strongly advise clients to steer clear. A fully digital bank seems like a cool idea until you need to sort issues out.

If you are looking to open a bank account chose a credible established known one, all the issues combined from all the credible banks in SA don't come close to the problems you will face with TymeBank. TymeBank opens fraudulent bank accounts without adequately following the FICA process. The bank doesn't provide a dispute resolution unit; does not respond to reported fraud cases; does not respond to complaints lodged, in fact any serious support required will never be provided by this bank. TymeBank should not be allowed to operate in South Africa.
