Black Marlin definitely has the best atmosphere, overlooking the ocean with absolutely stunning outdoor scenery. Even in winter! It's cozy inside and the service is great! The staff is super friendly! Their hot chocolate really does compete eith the best ;)

The view was killer, the menu was better and (as busy as it was) the service was good. Unfortunately the food ended up getting to us lukewarm for every dish. Today was hot as HADES so that worked but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t on most occasions. We will definitely do it again, and probably again anyway because the seafood here??? Doesn’t matter if it’s temperature correct, it’s good!

This time around was dissapointed in the prawns. Both king and queen were well overcooked. Kingklip was divine. Concurrently there was a small wedding as well as a private memorial, so the venue cater for casual diners as well as pre organised events. Waiter didn't check up on us once to enquire about further drinks or if we were enjoying our food. Didn't bother with dessert. Security at the venue was great. Excellent views of the beach. We were luckily able to stroll down to the beach and enjoy some time dipping our toes in the waters and clean sand.

Found this restaurant on our drive down to cape point . We arrived around 2 pm and the rush hour of lunch was over . Really amazing position in view over the sea. We had fried calamari and delicious fishcake . Twice a very naughty baboon came over to steal our food that promptly, one of the waiters scared him away

I last visited this amazingly positioned restaurant more than 30 years ago. The spot is excellent and a great drive to beyond Simonstown. The food is really 'boarding school' (cheap, soggy and badly prepared) and the noisy service really very poor. Vastly overprices for such poor quality. Clearly this place has traded on its day trippers but honestly most of the food is really inedible.

The drive to the venue was lovely. The style is beautiful and quaint with a fireplace in the main seating area. The prices are very reasonable and the service excellent. The food is freshly prepared and delicious. The cuisine is mainly seafood and they do cater for vegetarians. I'd definitely recommend a visit.

We visited here a couple of times and it was good but not this round. Utterly disappointing. The given table was very untidy. We ordered seafood chowder, pesto pasta and seafood curry for lunch. The menu clearly states seafood chowder but it came in yellow curry with 2 small mussels with shells, without bite-size seafood. It was like eating baby porridge. The seafood curry came with small pieces of fish meat swimming and 2 small grilled prawns conveniently thrown in.The pesto pasta was dry and tasteless. It's totally not that Black Marlin restaurant that many of us enjoyed anymore. Bye!
