Got here just before closing but the stock looked good, interestingly curated. They looked for books by a SA author for me and recommended other bookstores that might have them.

They have the best books at affordable prices. The stuff is very friendly. I enjoyed their African history section. Whether interested in politics, war and military, biography, they have it all.

Excellent selection (especially South African political affairs) and beautiful premises. Front-office staff unfriendly, blows hot and cold. Be sure to double mask and check that your mask/s don't slide below the bridge of your nose. Heard a staff member went ballistic on a high-end customer a few years ago. A must visit notwithstanding. Prices are on the higher side, but books are in excellent condition and in many instances the dust jackets are wrapped.

Wonderful library in downtown, inside you can feel a special vibe. Authentic place full of culture and history where you can find new book and second hand ones about several topics! The library is on two floors and it's amazing, armchair everywhere, you can sit down and read and consult books, take your time and decide! Go there early so you have all the time to decide!

Used and new book with wide range and vast selection. The place itself is interesting. Friendly staff, good light with seating. A bit tight on space for overcrowding. FYI, Used books are not in order but they are generally in the right sections.Recommended and would return.

This is a lovely place to browse and look for treasures. It stocks mostly South African, African, academic, historical and art books. They also sell antique prints. A lovely place to spend an afternoon. The staff is exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable.

Interesting selection of alternative independent books that you won't find in mainstream bookstores. Worth the visit!

A gem of a bookshop, true to the humble experience of timeless memories on a shelve. The lay-out of the shop is very conducive to the shopper experience as it gives a sense of coziness. The location is to be admired as it is nestled in-between the buzz of the busy Cape Town CBD and the popular V&A Waterfront, yet you do not feel rushed. In fact, you feel relieved to have a less busy space for a while.Well managed and easily accessible.
