Leeu Passant Winery - Franschhoek

The Old Vines White 2020 is superb. The straw wine 20201 is also delicious - sweet like honey and quite decadent. It’s a smaller venue for tastings, so I recommend a reservation in advance

We were wowed by the estate...driving into this estate felt like Beverly Hills or some high end resort which it is...the beauty & attention to detail of the gardens are just amazing...there is a hotel for spa & treatments etc there is seperate accommodation with apartments...there is an excellent wine tasting area...the wines are superb & surprising reasonable with some winning accolades...there is both an indoor & outdoor wine tasting area...the garder/ land scape artist deserves an award for the excellent gardens...there is no restaurant for non guests...

Stunning farm with incredible wines. They don't do charcuterie boards but you can appreciate that their focus is the wine. Definitely worth a stop.

The wine was decent and the grounds very nice, the hostess was friendly but seemed to favour one member of our party over the rest even sneaking them an extra glass while the rest of us had to sit with empty glasses. Overall a nice place and well informed hosts.

We like this place. We have been here several times already. A very beautiful garden, if you decide to walk around it, then no one will mind. Be sure to take a walk in the garden! Beautiful sculptures, beautiful garden decoration! We've only had good experiences with testing here. A bit pricey, but you get great exclusive wines here. Need a reservation. It is best to call ahead and book a test. Well, if there are no places, say that you just want to buy wine, they will let you in. Take a walk in the garden. And maybe they will still let you in for testing. Must visit in Franschoek!

Absolutely sublime! The gardens are exquisite, the Leeu x Mullineux wines are all of the highest quality and leave you wanting more. Our wine host Greydon, was exceptional. Super friendly, knowledgeable and funny. Definitely one of the best experiences at a wine estate (and we have been to many). Do yourself a favour and immerse yourself in the tranquility and beauty that Leeu has to offer!

Very classy, and the wine quite good. 130Rand for their most basic tasting flight of 5 wines. It was very personal, which likely contributed to the exclusivity (and the fact that we were nearly denied entry, even though it wasn't nearly full). Make sure to book ahead if you want to experience this.

Beautiful and luxurious location. The scenery takes your breath away and the wine tasting is a superb experience. Luxury and attention to detail. The staff members work very well together for a world-class experience.

Fantastic tasting room on a beautiful farm, which only accentuates these phenomenal wines. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines on offer. Don’t come here if you’re in a hurry because there is a lot to get through. My partner and I shared 2 different tastings, which gave us a good insight into more wines than you would normally get to experience. We were lucky to get in without a booking, but a reservation is recommended since these wines are making a name for themselves internationally. Giving this place a poor rating just because you didn’t get in (as some reviewers have done) is a little spiteful. Make a reservation next time.
