Madikwe River Lodge By Dream Resorts

We had a wonderful short safari stay in Madikwe. Cabins were great, surroundings and amenities fine. Very friendly staff at the lodge, very competent rangers.Got everything we expected and more for an exemplary African wilderness experience.Can‘t say anything about price because we booked it in a fairly expensive package...In you can spare it, spring some more for „Room 17“ which has a private terrace with a view to a watering space on the river.

We love River Lodge for so many reasons. The staff are super friendly and will bend over backwards to satisfy your needs. The accommodation is comfortable and the food is generally good. It's great value for money and the best value lodge in the Madikwe Park. While the facilities themselves are neat and there have been quite a few renovations done, some areas - specifically the rooms - are showing their age a bit and haven't changed much in the ten years we've been coming here. But that's definitely not a deal breaker and we'll be certainly be coming back.

Wonderfully 3 nights at the river lodge. Room are comfortable and quiet. Vincent was such a good guide during the game drives, always looking for the most interesting actions, interesting comments. On top of that the food is great. A physical activity would be nice to help work off all the meals.

Thank you for making our stay very comfortable. Food is delicious and chef goes out his way to make a plan for guests with special requests. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Madikwe has the best game and our game ranger, Amos was very willing to go above and beyond for us. Thank you River Lodge, it was our 5th time staying with you, but not the last!

This is my first time in a Safari and I must say that this place had exceeded my expectations. Very friendly staffs, good food, nice decor and very resourceful rangers. They always made sure that our stay here is worth every penny of it. Will come back one day for sure.

The game drives with Charles were great. He is a wonderful person especially with the children. He asked them lots of questions. However he did not have a night torch that worked. Only 2 out of the 5 nights did it work. I felt the lodge itself is badly maintained. Bathrooms need upgrading and pathways to the rooms were eroded and dangerous to walk on. Lights along the pathways were out and the oil lamps provided ran out of oil. Staff were very helpful but were not able to assist when my fan in the bedroom only had one speed and the air-conditioned was broken.

The staff was amazing, helping with everything, the lodge itslef was very cofortable with authentic-natural decorations, the game drives were the best, with Charles the ranger. The value for money, related to Madikwe was great. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Service was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide gave my family and I unforgettable game drives where we were able to see the big five in 1 day!! Spectacular. Will definitely come again!

Great little lodge in Madikwe. Rooms great, not over the top but well presented and clean, overlooking the river. Lots of bird life and animals. Tame bushbuck in the perimeter. Fenced but not sure electric fence was functional. Swimming pool. Great guides and game drives. Lot's of animals in the reserve although vegetation not very diverse with significant tree damage from elephants.Saw two brown hyena and wild dogs, along with other typical animals. Child friendly simple good food. Pools and river make it not that suitable for very young children unless you are prepared to be constantly vigilant.
