Had a pleasant stay. Great scenery and can do lots of hiking. Only downsides were lack of swimming spots in really hot weather as dams have become overgrown. Lights in hut are camping lights and solar lanterns, so bring camping lights if you need more. Road is quite rugged and for non suv vehicles plan for 45 min on Gravel.

We had a wonderful time at Arborea Cottage, surrounded by natural beauty, high up in the mountains. We had a nice walk and could breathe in the fresh clean air. Bring your hiking boots and there are great mountain biking trails.

If you are looking for a quiet farm getaway to rest and unwind, then this place is for you. Situated in the Cederberg mountains on a working fruit farm, the surrounding natural beauty is awesome and it is wonderfully quiet. There are plenty of trails to run, walk, or cycle. The farm is accessible by dirt road suitable for cars (just drive slowly and while the sun is still out to spot bigger rocks in the road) The cottage has a gas operated shower, stove and fridge, and solar-operated lights. No electricity and no wi-fi, but good cellular signal. Les and Cara are wonderful hosts, always going above and beyond! Highly recommended!

A unique tranquil hidden spot deep in the cederberg vally with breathtaking views of the mountains surrounding us and the cederberg nature reserve just around the corner. At night there is no light and makes for fantastic stargazing! We visted over new years and had some trouble with our car, Cara was a magnificent host and helped without hesitation. I Definitely recommend Arborea Cottage if your looking to completely abandon civilization for a weekend.
