Great place to meet and catch-up with locals - whether you want to work, socialise or have great coffee - great atmosphere! Most informative coffee tasting/pairings in Jbay! They often have markets, showcasing local music artists, artwork, crafts, pre-loved clothing, etc.

There are too many awesome things about this little spot! Firstly, definitely the best coffee in J-bay. I love getting my First light inspiration with every cup. Then, if you love to make your own coffee at home, grab some of their amazing award winning beans that get roasted roasted on site. Their meals are incredibly tasty. And they stock a lovely array of locally designed and made products from art to jewelry and more...Oh and you’ll get a discount if you bring your own cup for your take away ☕️

Great coffee & lounge in Jbay! Would recommend staying and getting some work done as the atmosphere and environment is great. The beach is just down the road which is great. This also become a great stop for a coffee on the road.

These guys burn their own coffee beans, they make absolut great coffee, they know how to make a super cappucino, or espresso. They give barista courses, if only they would train and supply to all restaurants and bars in the wide vicinity. No cappucino or espresso for breakfast at your guest house due load shedding? Go to First Light as they have a generator!

TLDR: First Light is a great coffee shop in Jeffrey’s Bay, complete with WiFi, good coffee, nice staff, and ample seating.I am a foreigner who was in town visiting. I needed a solid coffee shop to do some work from very early in the morning. First Light was perfect. The shop opens early. The staff was so welcoming. I had the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. It was delicious. I also had the chocolate brownie. It was yummy and very rich.The atmosphere is very adaptable. It is well lit. There are tables and a bar with plugs. (Bring your adapter if you’re a foreigner.) The WiFi was fast and did not appear to have a time limit.The only feedback I have is that they should get a wider selection of food, especially non-baked goods like fruit.

Cute cafe with tasty handmade breakfast bun and oatmilk cappuccino! Service was very friendly, we had a chat and she offered us nice recommendations for our upcoming travelroute. Meeting spot for the local surfcommunity, you can easily exchange about surfing here (and probably almost everywhere in jbay)
