Dont expect to get your deposit back.They will use your deposit for renovations claiming damages.I am a solo female that rented via Major Kim.I paid a R11000 deposit plus R1000 application fee and a R350 credit check. For the lease.Over R2000 was deducted from my deposit for Tilling"The property manager ( when he wasn't harassing me with whatsapp messages throughout the year to come visit or for me to make him some coffee or asking if I'm home) said that he does not know why I was charged for the tilling because there are no damaged tiles. I emailed and requested a photo of these damaged tiles and I'm still waiting.R600 was deducted to replace a light switch that costs R30 at Builder Warehouse.R660 was deducted for "inspection" in the last month of my lease.R600 was deducted for cleaning and admin.There is a difference between damages and renovations; I am paying for the renovations the owner should be paying for.I was over-charged by the Major Kim accountant 4 times during my lease( I'm talking thousands)
