Avoid avoid avoid...Did my fingerprints and photos at another branch, and just went to collect my new ID card.Three hours in the queue, of which two were spent before I could enter the building...Of the fifteen possible counters, only 2-4 are actually manned by personnel at any given time, resulting in exceptionally long waiting times.Rather go to City Centre, I believe it to be better there.

Shocked and highly disgusted. Waited there since 6am and only got inside at 15h00. With a baby! They do not let small babies in first. Only elderly and pregnant women?!? Those who were behind me (since 6am)were turned away. One of them a small baby as well :( On another note:your husband or partner needs to be there for your kid's passport. Affidavit is not good enough.

These guys are awesome! I’m from Johannesburg originally, so the service here compared to any other home affairs I’ve been to is fantastic! As long as you join the queue early, you are guaranteed to be helped in a friendly and fast fashion! It took me 2 hours total to apply for my Passport, and only one week to collect.

I went to renew my passport after having attempted to do so at two other Home Affairs offices, not even having managed to even enter the building on those occasions. The process was smooth and efficient, and the staff seem to have a good system for ensuring everything keeps moving. I found them all calm and professional. It was very clean. The only downside" is that finding parking may be a challenge. I now hope that the collections process will be as efficient."

Only waited 20 minutes to collect a passport and was seated the whole time. Staff were friendly, especially the lady at booth 15. The trick is to time it correctly. Never go on a Monday or Friday and never in school holidays or the day before or after a pubilc holiday and always go in the afternoon.

With the implementation of the online application process, things have been difficult for citizens to get their documentation application completed. The app is not good. But Bellville, Oh my....the security guard is nice, the staff amazing and everything just runs smoothly. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I wish that management would bottle whatever they do and sell it to the other Home Affair offices. Well done!Bellville should be the flag ship office for training others.

The service and attitude of the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) staff at the Bellville office are exceptional! I had an unpleasant experience attempting to apply for my daughter’s Identity Document and Passport at a Bank branch where we were not assisted despite showing up promptly for our scheduled appointment.Taking the service failure matter further at Bellville DHA led to one of my greatest service delivery surprises. The service failure at the Bank was promptly addressed, and the Bellville DHA staff efficiently guided us through the process to conclude the ID and Passport applications.DHA Bellville staff – thank you for making my daughter and many other Capetonians we met in the queues feel like celebrities on a sunny day in March! We’ll be back soon to collect our documents!

Went to collect my passport entire process took 40mins. I was surprised there was even very clean, well kept toilets. Only downside is no parking - understandable, it is a main road You have to park around the block / side streets.

We just did a late registration of birth for our youngest son, and received the most professional and kindest help from Loulama. She is really incredile, the whole team there works under extreme pressure and in a dangerous area, doing the best with the resources available to them. Come with patience and understanding, knowing the team is extremely professional, very kind and capable!

I don’t want to even give a star. Yesterday went to go collect my smart id the que was so long I just turned around and left. Today I were also there but just the que for collection were very long. How can I change the collection home affairs to another branch?
