It makes me very sad when I have to edit a review and it becomes worse dropping from 5 stars down to 1. I do this with a very heavy heart. I would complain about the shocking service this evening if there had actually been any service. I literally waited an hour to get something to eat, yes I see the irony of this in a sushi restaurant. Asami's management what happened? Yes the restaurant was busy but not full to capacity. Teach your staff to manage expectations, communication is key especially with delays. When asking for assistance we were met with an attitude of it's not my problem. We are bitterly disappointed as this was... One of our family favorites! All of us love Asian food and of course the sushi buffet is a winner. Everything is fresh and flavorful. Each of us has a preference and with the options available nobody will go hungry. Our waiter was particularly good and nothing was too much trouble. Now that is how service should be. There is ample parking in the shopping complex and the restaurant itself is very spacious." We will be back if only to give you a chance to redeem yourselves but until then this very bad review sticks."

Absolutly terrible service. My husband and I ordered via phone and got the wrong food order. Unfortunately, we only realised this at home. We phoned in and first they insisted we got the right order. Even the manager did not seem to know what california rolls" are and insisted its deep fried food (we did not order the first time and ALWAYS order the same thing). Eventually they realised their mistake and said someone would come and deliver the right order because we just came home after being 1h in traffic and going back was clearly not worth it. After empty promises and another phone call they put the phone down and never bothered to contact us again or deliver the promised correct order. We will definitely not order again and support Asamis as this was not the first time they screwed up. Service is shocking on the phone and in store. Food quality was much better some time ago. Overall do not support!"

I had a great experience. Placed orders and came verh quickly, tasted fresh and delicious! Very friendly waiters and atmosphere was relaxing and open. Spacious with room for many to sit and enjoy! Buffet was R199 and theh have combo set meals at R165Lots of parking space outside

The sushi we ordered took ages to arrive. The chef who prepared the sushi was away from the counter most of the time. And it wasn't even that busy.The experience has actually put me off from going to a sushi buffet again in future.

Went to this place to enjoy a lunch..the staff is friendly but sushi is not great. Rice in sushi was watery and basically the entire presentation of the sushi fell apart. Good cocktails but again the cocktail presentation was very poor. Service was great but the food n cocktails really need some attention.

Barely had service & had to constantly try to get the attention of the waitress even though the place wasn't jam-packed.Some of the food was delicious, but others was not great. I had mussels & did not enjoy it at all, but the calamari was very yummy - Guess if depends on what you get.

Wife and I had their 2x chicken meals special deal, outstanding quality and huge portions including 4 spring rolls for R149 total. Above and beyond expectation. Will definitely be back!

Excellent Asian food at a very good price. Mondays there's a 2for1 noodles special and the sushi combo was buy 2 get 1 free. Very tasty and such large portions. We'll most certainly be back there. Shoo. What a treat!

The food was great however, the restaurant itself was dirty (a lot of flies and wall had sauce spray on it).Staff was friendly however, the service was slow.

The sushi is good! There was only one sushi chef and the food took forever. The restaurant is pretty cheap and the restaurant isn’t aesthetically pleasing. But the you get what you pay for.
