Relaxed and fresh atmosphere, with an excellent shaded terrace. Also has a very good selection of food, such as interesting squared pizza and fresh seafood.

The restaurant has recently had some renovations and a new menu. Place looks awesome, staff so friendly and fast and the best part are the prices. Most items on the menu are below R50. Comedy night is a blast!!!

We wanted to go for lunch one afternoon and there was literally no one inside. We went behind the counter to get our own menus, then ended up walking around to find a waitress or just anyone that worked there. I was so shocked to see that there was only one waitress outside. Anyway, we didn't even waste our time and walked straight out. Also, I don't think it's very safe just leaving your restaurant open with absolutely no one to greet you. Shocking!!

Just had an awful experience here.I've been to this spot many times.The place is cool.....but the service is currently rotten.The staff members Keagan , Tristan and Tyrone just took me for a ride.I ordered a cappuccino before ordering a meal, while my family was at the beach and due to join me.The manager Keagan did a cock & ball design on my cappuccino and Tristan served it, while Tyrone laughed as he disappeared to the kitchen.I expressed my dissatisfaction and left.I stood outside thinking of where else I could go....while I heard their laughter inside.I went back inside where they were huddled at the bar laughing their asses off.Keagan, the manager looked surprised I came back and gave a flimsy apology.Tristan also gave a flimsy apology.Tristan then proceeded to lie....stating he wasn't aware....even though he served it to me with a smurk on his face and he claims not to look at what he is serving customers.The Manager, Keagan then also proceeded to lie stating that he poured the drink and tried to do a heart....he then said he wished he could do a cock & balls.....lying through his teeth.I told Keagan that the owners of Octopus Garden are trying there best keep the place going.....they need to attract more customers.....and this is how he and the staff treat customers?To the owners: I would seriously get decent staff that care about your business....not these fools.As for my family and I....we will not be supporting your place.

Lovely place just before the st James station. Good food for excellent prices. Sit in the garden in the shade and enjoy the pizzas from a wood burning stone oven. Sip wines while nipping off of a range of starters. There's even a fun playground for kids.

Great pumpkin ale. Great atmosphere. Lots of artsy quotes all over the walls, crazy decor, and thin based pizza straight out of the oven.

This place, or should i say these places as there appear to be a conglomeration of bar/restaurant/beer/tea garden, occupies a unique and prime position along the coast, being the ONLY restaurant/coffee shop serving the popular St James tidal pool. However when my daughter and I.popped in there this afternoon before going to the pool to swim, we were desperate for a cup of tea. The place was empty. The only member of staff was a young woman who was unable to supply takeaway cups so that we could take our tea down to the beach. The garden was inviting so we decided to enjoy our tea in the garden, but a piece of cake would have been perfect. No cake. She managed to supply one pot of tea and the other was served in a MILK JUG as we seem to.have run out of lids"! Run out of tea pots more like it. What a waste of a prime position!!!! The crockery was grubby

Very pleasant experience, staff are very friendly, and food is delicious. Pets are also welcome, which makes it even more pleasant and convenient. Jalapeño Poppers are a bit small though, but very flavourful. Fire oven baked pizzas are delicious!We had a 30th Birthday Party here, and it was the perfect venue, with live music on the side, and very cool designed jungle gyms for the kids.
