Checkers Vryheid

I am highly disappointed, a numerous times now I get rotten food. I keep hoping they change but currently very disappointed & have decided to take a short break from buying food at the store.

Very Bad Customer Service, till machine broke and I had to Pay twice for the groceries.I paid for my grocery using my debit card, the transaction was approved and even received a confirmation sms from my bank that I just paid checkers Vryheid. As the cashier was supposed to give me the till slip, she said the machine had turned off. She wasn't sure whether the transaction was completed. The manager was called, Ms Khumalo, she said there was no record of the transaction. I waited more than 45 minutes without being offered any solution nor even a chair being 7 months pregnant, I had to lean on the trolley for a long time before they could offer me a seat. While they wait for their old till machine to restart and it didn't. In the meanwhile I was being blamed for my choice of a bank I'm using. At the end I offered to pay again for the groceries, because there was no solution being offered. They said the money should be reversed, but it didn't. I returned after four days to inform them that I didn't receive my refund. After a day they called me to come fetch the money at the store. I don't understand why it's not reversed to my bank account. What about my travelling cost? No one offered any apology to me but it was their old till machine that broke down.This is not fair nor justified and not the way customers should be treated.

Safety is a issue in the parking lot. Prices are good tho. Service is terrible it's slow and staff is very disrespectful. Walked out a few times because of bad service.

Good place to go shopping. There are lots of other shops in the center and meter taxis are close by when you done shopping and don't have transport.

Received very bad service from Checkers today.I will not go back ever again.

I do not know what it is but the staff seems not to be of very happy kind. I helped to move the old checkers to where it is now, and in that time friendliness was 1 of the top 5 things each employee had to have to offer to clients. Think I must contract myself to the checkers/shoprite group to get them back on their standards

Great shop with low prices and great service

Collect a thousand Rand from checkers that somebody had since they insisted I had to borrow a club one of the customers why was not going to be assisted I tried the cash is in every language but none of them responded

One can get whatever needed here in terms of grocery, spacious and clean

I always shop here and I save a lot with reward card.
