Beautiful location but very overpriced for what you get. Lunch platter was very disappointing and Unappetising. Ive been at Trogon house before and sad to see that the standards have dropped. Our cabin was clean but no outside cushions to sit on??For the price you pay per night, they can definitely upgrade on a few amenities.Regards to the Staff they where all lovely and service was great.

I'd give it more stars if I could. It's neat, safe and they take care of you in terms of having coil and a spray for the insects. It's really in the wilderness. The staff is attentive, as we decided to swim one of the stuff members came with towels. Breakfast was delicious and dinner too. I will definitely be going back.

Very nice hotel, Wifi signal and cell is weak, but the service and room style is good for someone who wants to get away and live a quiet day or two.

Location is like no other, literally in the middle of the forest. We booked the honeymoon suite, there is a bar fridge with milk, tea and coffee making facilities, robes, slippers. 360 glass it is a true forest bathing experience with rain shower and bath. The main bar and lounge is super comfortable with open fire where one can relax or take a dip in the pool. We booked the spa package with a couples massage it was incredible highly recommended so worth it. It’s so quiet, peaceful and personal top noch service , our 3 day break was perfect. We loved the welcome messages by what’s app. Carol was super helpful with any request we had. We popped next door to the elephant sanctuary which was so educational and fun. A huge thank you to all the staff at Trogon for a memorable amazing experience. Kare & Hedley

Spent 3 nights here for our honeymoon. My wife and I had a truly awesome experience - Incredibly helpful and friendly staff, good food, great scenery, and comfortable rooms. The road leading to the premises was a bit rough for our car, would've made a plan to use another vehicle if I had known. There was limited parking and no reception in the rooms. The wifi was only available in the main building, so guests in rooms 3 and 4 were out of range.Despite the abovementioned, we had a great time and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for peace and quiet surrounded by nature!

This was a surprise birthday gift to my boyfriend. I followed up the entire week regarding if everything is ready. The experience was absolutely horrible from the moment we arrived Do you understood that it's a birthday spoiled our son is 6 months old it was supposed to be our get away for a few hours. It was a cold day the room was cold jacuzzi not on temperature and I personally have 1 at home if it's heated it doesn't Cool down that fast preproduction was not done for my booking. Arrival in the room the fire was just lit so it was cold throughout the massage. Rose pedals as seen in photos was countable rose pedals not acceptable I thought it was maybe in the jacuzzi and it was not. The moment the massage stopped they informed us the jacuzzi was cold I said okay then let's just sauna and even that was not turned on then I said okay now what, they said we can enjoy our platter on the pool deck where another client was on his bed in his underwear. It was definitely not what I had in mind to enjoy our champagne and platter. So Nr 1 your front desk guy said that I already made the payment for the massage and spa. This was a surprise wanted to keep it a surprise till we were in the room.Nr 2. The rose pedals were literally countable in the photos sent to you. If you think that is worth saying you put rose pedals then please don't it's disappointing to say the very least.Nr 3. The room was cold throughout our massage as the fire was not lit.Nr 4. Jacuzzi not on temperature and you cannot use loadshedding as an excuse I have a jacuzzi and I know if it was turned on in time (as you knew well in advance) it would have been the right temperature.Nr 5 sauna not even turned on.Nr 6 expecting us to enjoy our platter and champagne on a pool deck where another guest is on his bed! That was meant to be eaten and drank while we were in the jacuzzi

The staff are fantastic, even before we arrived their communication with us was excellent. We had a warm welcome and a lovely spa experience. The spa is tucked away in the woods and has a serene relaxing atmosphere. Dinner was of high quality and dessert was to die for! Our room was spotlessly clean and had the best panoramic views of the forest. Breakfast was again delicious. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay here. You cannot go wrong here, and we plan on staying there again, but for a longer time.

This is the nicest place i have stayed in South Africa, a true escape into a treetop paradise with outstanding panoramic forest top views. spectacular treeview pool, food that was simply exceptional and well worth the price and staff that were so friendly yet discreet. professional, beautiful with glass studded walls and bathrooms so you literally feel like you are in your own private forest. serene, boutique, paradise, and super location close to Plettenberg Bay and many other day trips. The manageress, Carol was exceptional, a real feast for the soul.

We stayed for two days in the honeymoon suite, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. From walking into the room with the fireplace running and candles lit around the room, to the unique and exquisite location in the middle of the forest, it was like we'd teleported to a different world. The breakfast is delicious and incredibly generous, and the views as you eat and enjoy the main deck are out of this world. The staff also made us feel right at home. We can't wait to go back to this magical, hidden gem.

Horrible experience! Don’t go, waste of your money!Upfront everything seemed fine, we were contacted by the hotel via whatsapp to inform us of the loadshedding and asked us if we’d like to have dinner in the hotel. Also some useful instructions on how to reach the hotel which is located in the middle of a dense forest, after a slippery, narrow and steep road which is by no means safely accessible without a 4x4 in rainy conditions. When we arrived the premises looked completely abandoned, no guests to be seen, no one behind the reception desk. When we arrived in the lobby a guy stepped from behind a wall welcoming us. No formalities whatsoever, he got the key and walked us straight to our room (no. 3).Immediately when I entered the room it smelled horrible, musty. The room didn’t look all that great, filthy carpet, bathroom had know beter days. Windows did not open or close properly, no easily accessible wall plugs. Everything felt damp. Sheets yellowish, although they should have been white. Stinky towels, stains in the bed. After sitting on the terrace next to the murkey pool under a ripped parasol my friend and I decided we didn’t want to stay any longer. We put our luggage back in the car, handed over the key and told the receptionist the hotel was by no means what we expected. It was absolutely not worth the money we unfortunately already payed before arrival (EUR 140 for one night!) and left for the beautiful, cozy and clean Barrington Hotel in Plettenberg which also was much cheaper.Been in an argument with the hotel staff for a month now, seems the treat all the guests who write about their negative experience as liars. Telling them they should read the reviews of guests who did like their stay, ignoring the fact that experience is not about other people’s experience but in this case my experience. They way the staff deals with criticism is very unprofessional; I was told to stay in hotels that cost a thousand euro a night in the future in order to satisfy my demands. Frankly I left Trogon house after being there for an hour for a hotel in Plettenberg which was much cheaper, better, nicer, cleaner, etc.
