Gariep Plants

Taking a walk in the gardens at Gariep is both breathtaking and fascinating. The staff is friendly, the succulents are affordable and they have a great selection. All around good time.

Really interesting succulents available at really affordable prices. Made sure to stop there when I was visiting from Cape Town and I was not disappointed!

They have a beautiful verity of succulent plants. The staff are well informed and efficient. The grounds could use a little bit of attention tho.

Some unique plants on sale at this nursery. Wide range of aloes, and some succulent species that I have never seen before. Saw two hummingbirds drinking from aloe flowers, that are in bloom this time of year. Owner on hand to answer questions while you browse the nursery

Honestly such a horrible experience. I had asked for help with my succulents with the full intention of paying for the service and obtaining another succulent. However, my ask for help was met with disdain and ignorance. I was told that I can't be helped and to do it myself. The impression I got was as if I was being called stupid or retarded with the worst service ever. I walked out quite upset after the whole ordeal and went to Eden Gardens where I had the best service I've ever had!

One of the most peaceful and beautiful places to shop for all your succulent needs. The owner is always there for questions and makes anyone feel at home. Keep an eye on their FB page to see when they have coffee and pancakes on Saturdays. This is a family owned business and is also a great place to bring your kids.

Living in Faerie Glen almost 5 years now and have driven past this nursery several times. A couple of weeks ago my partner and I decided to take a walk up to the nursery. Well, what a pleasant surprise that was. A wide range of succulents and cactus welcomes you, and the layout is rustic and informative. If I could have purchased more that day I would have. Gariep Nursery is on my list as I put together a small succulents group who will meet twice a month. This is a definite for cactus and succulent lovers. Pricing is not bad and the variety is well above what I expected. Well done Gariep Nursery.

I was honestly very excited about re-visiting this nursery after I hadn't been there in a few years, but to my disappointment, my daughter and I was met by an assistant that didn't greet (at first I wasn't even sure if he worked there), and then he continued to follow us around, not saying a word, just silently following us around which made me feel very uneasy. Not sure if he just didn't have anything to do or if he wanted to make sure I don't steal anything, because being of assistance was definitely not his motivation.Lovely collection of plants though, it kept me walking by 2 or 3 times in each row just to make sure I didn't miss anything, but also a lot of ones that looked very neglected. I really wished to have had a better experience like I had the last time I was there. I ended up purchasing a few plants, but I would be in no rush to go back again. The customer service really put me off.I honestly hope that the owners take this review up seriously, and transforms things a bit.

Excellent collection of euphorbia's. They are planning to close so watch out for bargains. The assistant was just super mean to an old lady...me...and would not even give me a tiny piece of vettie growing in the garden. He lied and said it grows from seeds only. Really!!!!!!!!!
