Whenever our friends from overseas visit, they always ask us for recommendations. Amazing wine farms aside, we also bring them for art gallery and museum excursions here in Cape Town. Visits to Zeitz MOCAA, A4 Arts Foundation and the Norval Foundation, plus a sure visit to Red Room Gallery. Like discovering new wines and vineyards... it's a joy to see art by emerging artists from across Southern Africa on show in a private setting in Hout Bay. Red Room Gallery never fails to deliver quality works with future potential at still affordable prices. It's clear the owner has his finger on the pulse of the art scene.

Red Room is a “must see” for contemporary art lovers visiting Cape Town! The artworks on show combined with the breath-taking location up in the mountain overlooking the Hout Bay valley is something we will never forget, a brilliantly curated exhibition by Maik Kobald. We purchased an etching by William Kentridge and a beautiful charcoal drawing by Bambo Sibiya. We will for sure come back to explore new pieces on show when we get back to the wonderful Cape next year.
