Benguela Accommodation Gansbaai

Absolutely loved staying here. My fiance and myself felt like family. The food was great and everyone at the venue is amazingly friendly. Highly recommended.

2 nights in room nr 1. Warm welcome by Jonathan, lovely place full of great art. The cooking is something special. Breakfast in bed and an unforgetable Michelin-star dinner with friends. Benguela is one B&B you will not forget. Remke & Lars

It was indeed a lovely break away. The staff and owner , Jonathan went out of their way to help me surprise my hubby. They had two huge silver candelabras with candles and a lovely bouquet of flowers in the room. 2 gourmet desserts were made personally by Jonathan at 23h00 at night. We don't eat meat so we had salmon, egg and spinach with caviar coffee breakfast on day 1... and a gourmet take on roosterbrood" on day 2. You are surrounded by unique art pieces and it all adds to the ambiance. Everything was immaculate and we really enjoyed bonding with our extra furry hosts - especially Tanda and Oscar. The only note is that the site should be updated as there is no T.V in the room. Also

Ambiance very interesting but good, food was excellent. Our host/chef is very talented both in the kitchen and in his interior design.

We stayed for one night with friends after 3 days hiking. Comfortable, well equipped rooms in a spacious house.Excellent food and wines and conversation at the dinner table and of course Jonathan as the perfect host.Breakfast was also excellent.This was our third visit and we will definitely be back again.A great place to enjoy with friends.

Thank you Benguela for an amazing weekend away from the City. Janine you're a superstar, thank you for arranging some very cool activities for us. We got an epic experience with amazing food and 5 star service from all. Staff are so friendly and the rooms are beautiful. There's a great art selection if you like art. We had a really great weekend.

Disappointing stay. Interior and view of the accommodation is very nice, but initially we booked based on friends recommendations for the dinner cooked by Jonathan, which was also advertised to us prior booking by the accommodation. Once we arrived we were told that we are the only guest and therefore there was no dinner tonight. Which is understandable but prior notice would have been appreciated. The promised breakfast in bed did also not happen, which was included in the price. As late as 10:45 nobody had come to our room and we could not reach the host or any staff. We left the property without the breakfast which we had paid for. Luckily another couple let us out of the gate.

Beautiful guest house with a very friendly host and staff. The rooms has the best view overlooking the ocean. Would definitely recommend this place to stay.

Jonathan is an excellent host, and a fantastic cook. His five course communal dinner is an amazing experience. This is not a conventional place and not suitable for children, but it was just what we wanted.

Beautiful decorated house with very comfortable rooms. Jonathan was the perfect host entertaining us during a marvelous dinner together with the very friendly other guests. Breakfast of the same height level. Staying here is ‘an experience’
