Moutonshoek Stud

Absolutely beautiful setting in a valley between the Picketberg mountains. Home to a plethora of wildlife including multiple buck species, aardvark, porcupine and an exceptionally high density of leopard. Birding is also rewarding, with well over a hundred species documented in the valley. The farm has various crops, including citrus orchards, vineyards, grains, rooibos, cattle and of course the thoroughbred stud. The spiderweb of tracks and trails makes for fantastic mountain biking and hiking, and if one wants a quieter day one can fish for both bass and carp in any of the three well stocked dams on the farm. Remember to bring your constellation guidebook as the stars are unusually clear due to limited light pollution.
