What a wonderful place it could be! Been there a few times, first two were pleasant experiences, but yesterday (Saturday evening) was such a humiliating one. We came there for a few pints and some cocktails, the chef and the waiter are always lovely helpful and very friendly, but the manager that works there is rude and unjust. My partner our friend and me were enjoying our time there, having a few drinks, chatting and laughing, we were outside at first, then we came in as it got cold, and our friend was about to order food, when the manager came to us and asked us to be quieter (at the bar on Saturday night) as people in the restaurant were eating, even though we weren’t over the top loud or disrespectful to the people around. There was a group of people having drinks as well, we didn’t notice any food or them being unhappy with our chat and occasional chuckles. Obviously once we heard that, we asked for a bill and decided to rather go to oppidek where people are not treated like they are naughty misbehaving children being loud in the library. Definitely last time we go there, which is a shame..

I stay close to the restuarant and love to have place as it's great to pop in for a meal or a beer. I have no problem with the food however the waiters are sometime not behind the bar and you need to go look for someone to assist you. Small things can make you close a wonderful opportunity such as Bokveld. Be Profesional, sharp on service and things will go from strength to strength however be laid-back and not professional and you will close down. Really love the place but become Profesional.

Great food and really good prices on food and drinks, but unfortunately the service is really terrible. The female manager is totally unprofessional and is totally absent from the dining area. The waiters are friendly, but service - even just to get a menu or order a first or next drink is extremely slow. The leave guests alone in the dining area for extended periods. The same Youtube mysic video plays over and over again. Really very disappointing and a pity.

This is a great new place for Gansbaai, it is actually situated in de Kelders. New trendy decor with lots of open space. A bit of lawn at the back with a trampoline with a net for the kiddies. Clean with friendly and efficient staff. The bar tender, Wilfred is very good and friendly, doing a great job even when it gets a bit busy. Good value for money with a calm and friendly atmosphere, a place you can be a regular, yes the food is that good, steaks and burgers, all very carefully cooked to perfection, even if you need your steak to be rare.
