Thank you Lea and your amazing team for a beautiful milestone that I now can hold onto forever .My princess turned one and with the COVID pandemic it was extremely difficult to celebrate this special day . As a result of lockdown ,my baby is not used to people at all (I’m sure more moms can relate ) . Her photo shoot was something I can treasure for a lifetime . How I wish I did that with my eldest as well. The amount of detail that went into the decor was indescribable. Your attention to detail is amazing . Then as you know working with kids is extremely difficult but I appreciate the patience and love you and your team portrayed . My daughter didn’t feel uncomfortable at all . I don’t know how to thank you for the most beautiful memories and professionalism . You are indeed my event planner of choice !THANK YOU!!!!xxxx

The venue is suitable for a small group, not a lot of parking and narrow steep entrance. The food was good and the hospitality was great.

I entrusted Black Olive Weddings and Events for my wedding and unfortunately, I was left disappointed and embarrassed on the day. The events manager/owner claims to have been in the business for over ten years and explained that she could arrange all décor and wedding set up as requested. The venue hire costs R7400 and the final bill given totalled R66 776.50. In this bill she itemized floral arrangements and décor for 31 people R37 971.50. I was happy to pay the costs as I was having a small wedding but wanted it set up elegantly with beautiful and expensive flowers and backdrops.FIRSTLY - The stated florals were to be white roses, white tulips, white orchids and white lilies and NO GREENEREY (She said no problem - I can import them all and get them from farms) to my surprise on the day I walk into full greenery, green botanicals, brown carnations, green Phalaenopsis, dead white roses and a huge wreath as a backdrop. (I had funeral flowers as my décor) I was devastated and when I met with her two days later to express my disappointment and concern, she raised her voice and said that these florals were not promised or agreed on (Even though we have a chain of emails confirming them) and the entire set up was green and brown and she thought it was pretty so clearly it is irrelevant what the client asked and paid for.SECONDLY - We paid R14800 for food for 34 people and it was a buffet set up. The guests all ate, and half the food still remained for later consumption however after an hour the food was taken away and we were told they don't do take-aways and there is no food left. This was never expressed to us from the get-go as we wanted our guests to eat as and when they wanted (hence a buffet set up). She refused to give any takeaways even though she earlier stated that she would do so.THIRDLY - We paid for a bar tab and floating champagne which totalled R6805. We were told that if we consume less than the bar tab, it would be credited to us. Due to the curfew our guests drank for an hour and the bill totalled R2237 which was given to us on a paper from the barmen. When we got the invoice the next day it stated that only R68 was due to us. After taking pictures of the barmen's bill, two new pieces of paper miraculously appeared with other drinks on it the day we went to see her after the wedding. She fought about what was consumed and later revised the bill stating that only R251 was now owed to us. She argued about the amount that was consumed and she sold two cases of Stella Artois back to us, which we ordered for the event at R35 a bottle which is R1680 versus R580 that she actually paid for it. She made R1100 profit on. DISGUSTING. So instead of crediting us R1973 which is the (remainder of bar tab and the overcharge for the two cases of Stella). She added alcohol that was not consumed onto the 'new bill'.My FOURTH and final nightmare - She rushed us out the venue earlier than agreed on and her staff and her were packing chairs and throwing décor into boxes whilst my guests were still in the venue. She caused a scene stating that we must take all our stuff out, then and there because she is tired and her and her staff won’t be in tomorrow because they need rest (After she agreed that we can meet the next day to take home the cake, florals, presents, décor and remaining chocolates and macarons and all other items owed to us) She blatantly dismissed this agreement made beforehand and argued with the bride and family to pack everything up and remove it.The manager/owner made a big profit on the event and monies charged for items that were promised and never delivered. Instead of a wedding, the set up looked like a funeral. There is nothing that can be done as she charges you ahead of time and bills need to be settled before events take place. Once all was said and done, we came to a realization that she rewords the agreed-on items in her invoices in order to overcharge on items not provided as agreed on.What an awful experience and event.

This place is so beautiful and elegant. Nice clean setup and located in the hills over looking the entire joburg skyline. Friendly people onsite and super welcoming. Great place to have functions.
