I visited Akshaya Patra restaurant in Midrand, South Africa, and I had a mixed experience. The food was delicious, but the service was poor.I ordered the Akshaya Patra Special Chicken Briyani, and it was one of the best briyanis I've ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the rice was flavorful and fluffy. However, I had to wait for at least 45 minutes for my order to come, and the staff seemed to be more interested in serving their friends and family than the other customers.I also found it strange that the restaurant only seemed to serve Telugu people. I'm not Telugu, and I felt like I was being treated differently because of it.Overall, I would say that the food at Akshaya Patra is worth trying, but the service and the way they treat other customers can be better.

Food here can give any Indian Restaurant, run for their money even India. Fairly prized. Amazing food (avoid Saturday for normal meals only go for specials as the cook gets tired coz of all the specials).

The food was great. We ordered Veg biryani and Chole bhature. Both the dishes tasted amazing. The staff was polite. Just the service was on the slower side but that can be ignored if you are getting hot and tasty food. Biryani is a must.

Absolutely love the food here. I have been here many, many times, and I have never been disappointed. Recommend the Apollo Fish. Food is authentic, and I really enjoy the vibe - feels very homey. Food portions are generous and is excellent value for money.

Best biryani in Johannesburg. I loved the flavours and taste. I ordered a family pack biryani and its worth. Family of three can eat twice.
