Great service, great prices, delcious food with filling portions. Booking is essential. You can enjoy the whole day here as the place accommodates the whole family. Kids can play on the paddle boats while you enjoy your drinks from the beach bar just across the restaurant. Great atmosphere with live music.

The place has two restaurants for day visitors. Also has a play area for kids.Boat paddling in their small dam.Their dam has a bridge over it, if lucky you can see the fishThis might be a weird compliment but wow their Restrooms/toilets were super clean like that of some hotel, big up!

I would love to give them 4 stars but the quality of the food has declined since August last year. The oxtail was great, fillet mignon was good, T-bone was rare instead of the requested medium rare and the eisbein had to be sent back as there was no crackling on the outside whatsoever. The kids loved their burgers.

I have been here 3 times already with my Hubby enjoyed it every time and decided to bring my Mom for the very first time. This time I was a little disappointed to see the place quite untidy and not neat like usual. My Mom and I had to move chairs around so that we could sit at a table and the table was also not very clean. Menus are absolutely terrible, very dirty and need replacing. Food was not as good as it was the other times we were there. My patty was also still raw and my Mom’s mince she had with her flapjacks was drenched in oil so she could not eat it finish. Staff is friendly as always and bathrooms very clean. Still a pretty place to go and relax and I am sure these small things will be corrected.

Booking is essential because this place gets full and seating is slightly limited. I had a booking but no table was set out for us, fortunately there was an open table available.Their lamb chops were on the smaller side but tasted good. The rump & blue cheese salad was okay but have to add seasoning for flavor. The chocolate milkshake was thick, not too sweet, creamy and delicious.

A nice location to drive out to for a child’s birthday or something where you’d like benches and a marquee from the Beach club for a more festive day out or a more South African thatch style sit down at The Fat Olive. However, manage your expectations with the menu. Unfortunately found the meals over priced for the quality and sometimes not completely accurate in description. For example, a chicken Caesar salad arrived more like a Cajun chicken salad and not as fresh as what you’d like from a Caesar salad. The burger is also something a bit too generic and left something to be desired for a unique destination such as this.If they reviewed their menu and dishes I think this spot could do much better, especially for being a destination venue. But if you’re looking for something with a simple menu with food and drinks and a nice outside area for your kids with a view of the little lake, it can be a relaxed afternoon on a weekend.

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience here. The place looks very nice and the atmosphere is essentially also good. On father's day they had a set menu which was too big for us, but they found us a place in the back. This was still fine. We ordered and then didn't see the waiter for almost an hour. When we asked when we could expect the food, they served it (dumping it on the table, there was no cutlery yet) and they were off again. All the good was cold (and all waiters ran off again). We simply wanted something small and waiting for over an hour in total only to get cold food was a bit too much and we gave up. When trying to pay only for the drinks that we managed to get, we still had to wait because the staff didn't seem to know how to handle payments. Perhaps it is better on non father's days, but we won't be back.

What an amazing kid friendly relaxing family outing.Just 30min from JHB CBD easily accessible and plenty secure parking. Out in the countryside and has a small dam set infront of a restaurant and B&B along with a beach bar and kiddies play area.Child minders on site and awesome.kiddies play area right next to the beach bar and restaurant which over looks the dam. There is a animal touch farm a d kids can have fun on an inflatable water slide. They have their own generator onsite as well so nomload shedding issues.Food a d drink is Good so it all makes for an awesome day outing.Go paddling on the dam with drink or bring your RC boat to play with on the dam. There is accommodation if you want to stay over as well.

What a beautiful setting. Such a pretty restaurant. Didn't really experience the restaurant food as we were in the lodge and cooked for ourselves. Service from the waiters and staff was awesome
