To say I’m livid is an understatement! I used this agent in 2020 for my tax return. Fast forward to today, 2023- i get a call from them, no introduction (name or company), and had the most distasteful conversation with the agent being rude, unprofessional and argumentative. Insisted that the “ATO” called them to tell them i didn’t lodge my tax for 2 years and that i needed to call a woman on a specific number. Of course with scammers running rampant in 2023, when insisted that this was incorrect, in passing, she asked who i was when i tell her that I’m not going to do that, if she didn’t even identify herself and reiterate to her that everything of mine is up to date. She rudely tells me that this isn’t true as she talked to them herself! I further told her that i didn’t get any missed calls or emails from ATO. Why would they contact an agent i used 2 years ago to tell me to call them on a specific number without having sent me a direct email, message me or even call me first? She became argumentative with me insisting that i didn’t lodge my tax as “ATO” stated and she stated that i would’ve missed a call from them (which i already told her i had not) and that i needed to call that number. If i didn’t finally deduce that she was indeed a real tax agent, i would’ve thought that she was a scammer. The conversation escalated due to this tax agent telling me i needed to call this specific “ATO” woman on a number that she was given to give to me.I refuse and then i call ATO directly, and no one from their end tried calling me, and my taxes are up to date. So who did this tax agent talk to, what information did she verify about me as an ex client to the scammer “ATO” and why was she adamant that i call back on a specific number. She emailed me telling me that she was trying to give me info from ATO and i responded back, texted her as well as tried to call her back to tell her that everything she insisted on was INCORRECT. And also to warn her that she spoke to scammers but she didn’t pick up my calls or respond to my texts to warn them. Further to this, I wanted to find out what information this tax agent may have discussed with these scammers she believed to be the ATO.Following the text and emails as well, no apology was given for how rude and unprofessional she was! She literally would’ve led me right into the hands of scammers had i not trusted my instinct that something was amiss and refused to take the number but to called the ARO DIRECTLY! Not happy!!
