Excellent stop over, for the perdantic person, to the weary traveler.Lovely hospitality. Good quality meals. Great hearing the stories from Piet (the owner) himself too.Lots of history.

Zandvlakte is a fantastic guest farm to explore the Baviaaskloof. The serenity of this place together with the warm hospitality of Peter and Magriet will make you want to extend your stay over and over . Highly recommended , the dinners in the family house are not to be miss.

We had a fantastic stay at Zandvlakte! We unfortunately broke down in the Baviaanskloof and Oom Piet came to our rescue and towed us to his beautiful farm Zandvlakte, where he managed to fix our wiskus fan.Magriet and Piet offer traditional Afrikaans hospitality in beautiful rugged wilderness. The accommodation is comfortable and I would recommend you eat dinner and breakfast with Oom Pete and Magriet. There is also a great 1/2 hour hiking trail on their farm and I know there were plans to expand on this offering.

Stunning location, lovely hosts, somewhat rustic accomodation, excellent to see the works being done to protect the wetland areas within the Baviianskloof Wilderness Area. Birdlife viewing very good, proximity to the Park gates very useful.

The hospitality was unique. Our hosts provided us with a very nice dinner and company. Hospitality as it used to be. We were very happy we selected Zandvlakte as out entry stage for de Baviaanskloof.

Great place to stay just before the western entrance to the Baviaans mega park. Prices are very reasonable. One negative though, the thatched roof's filled with cobwebs and rooms where a bit dusty. The rest was clean w.r.t bedding and cutlery.

Hospitality par excellence, a treat. A great pitstop when exploring the Kloof, can recommend Pieter and Magriet makes it very special, amongst others sharring details of the farming activities in the area and the food, to come back for.
