Chandelier Game Lodge

Lovely stay. Could sit out on camp deck and watch the view eith a few critters popping out to say hello -tortoises and Nyalas (hope spelt right!)Did the sundowner picnic, another fabulous 360 view looking out for miles. Pic is of view from breakfast table.

We had a reservation for the giraffe bottle feeding. First, Google Maps sended us to the wrong adress. The lady at the wrong adress told us, that this happens all the time. So I don't understand why the lodge isn't informing about that in the first place. Second when we arrived, all the bottles were sold and the giraffe was already struggeling to finish them. I am glad that we haven't paid forward. There where no apologys or any other offer.Third it is a really small place for all the animals.

A fun place to stop quickly to get a real close look at the Ostriches but mostly to feed the Giraffe! So special to get in such close contact with them. The tents are quite basic but it’s exciting to stay, see a wonderful sunset and see game come up in the morning. Also: lovely game drive included!

I am not someone who complains but I was totally shocked with our recent stay at Chandelier Game lodge just outside Oudtshoorn. On their website it indicates 4 star accomodation with various activities. Prices are definately 4 star but service, stay and activities 2 star. Bedlamps broken, shower shelves brown with dirt, even towels mediocer and you do not get the lavish feeling you should expect for the price you pay. Picnic and night game drive at R860 per person is a quiet drive to picnic spot, no shelter, you get dropped and left and picked up again to drive the same route back, no game, no conversation by guide, not even the slightest attempt to look for game AND then you get charged extra for drinks. Totally schoking!! When I complained about this, the receptionist did not even ATTEMPT to apologise. She just raised her shoulders and said the wheather not good last night". It has nothing to do with the weather....it is about what you pay and what you get in return for this. I will not recommend this way over priced mediocer accommadation to ANYBODY!!"

Food excellent service very good. Just feel there can be a bigger game drive. More towards the randjies.
