Spark Schools has the most pathetic Accounts department. They are lazy and have to be pushed to do their work. Especially a lady called Nelisiwe and her Supervisor Tashni Nadas. If the management is not careful this will be the downfall of Spark School which is actually a good School.

The accounts department has not been a joy to deal with. I'm actually resorting to going there in person whilst on Maternity leave. From enrollment till this day the statements are a mess. I'm defeated and beyond frustrated. My kids love the school but it's too much admin on the Accounts side.

Unfortunately I cannot post without selecting at least one star but this school does not deserve it. Spark Schools Silverlakes Pretoria - My daughter attended this school during the 1st term of 2018. It was an awful experience. The school has a number of health and safety issues and there are discipline and behaviour issues which the teachers are not able to cope with. I had to pay an annual fee of R500 for stationery but my daughter did not get a stationery pack. Instead they buy communal stationery for the class to use which would be fine if there was actually enough for everyone but there wasn't. The cherry on the cake is the number of times the school encouraged parents to keep their children at home" because of issues that have little to no effect on the school. The administration and communication with the head office is challenging to say the least. There are wonderful promises and ideas on the website but Spark Schools Silverlakes cannot deliver."

to the contrary, enrolling my child for grade 1 was quick and easy, I applied online on Thursday the 2nd of February 2018 and the next morning(Friday) I received a call to submit one document that I did not attach, I emailed the document to them and in less than 2 hours my child was accepted at the school. I took my child to school in Rynfield on Monday the 5th with no complication. I guess we all have different experiences.I have suffered the most with the government's online registration, I have applied on time and did everything as requested but I was let down and my child had to sit at home while I wait for the department to find him a school. I consulted at district office, visited the school I have applied to, sent numerous emails and made phone calls, today is the 5th of February but I have not received any answer from the department.Spark Schools made it possible for my child to be at school, my child is sitting comfortably in class today.

There is no doubt that the Spark curriculum is on another level. My only disappointment was with the awards day at Spark Maboneng. The teachers are disorganized there was not enough certificates printed for the scholars and when the concern was addressed to the principal Mr Moyo he was arrogant and just walked away. We parents pay allot of school fees and invested allot in our children’s education and to be tested like that is very disrespectful. Less dancing and more trophy’s and well prepared certificates Please! I was at a point where I wanted to remove my child from the school but didn’t want to confuse her as she already got use to the schools culture and values. If things does not change next year I will most definitely take her out and enrol her into a school that will give me my monies worth .Regards

I have received the worse expirience at Sparks. The application process response is a mess, no-one responds on time , no updates on time. I personally applied, sent documents last month, made a payment and yet no one has responded to me till today. Im completely disappointed, as this was recommended to be the best school yet their Admin side is completely chaos. I am still waiting for my refund. SO IM WAITING....PATIENTLY....

I am truely disappointed with Spark Schools. I visited the website sometime last week looking into enrolling my child into Grade 1, Applied online but did not attach the documents they required. I then called the offices just to check which schools still had space for grade 1 and I was told Spark School Turffontien. I then decided to go straight to the offices in Rosebank on the 15. 01 and submitted the documents manually, so the only thing outstanding was the proof of payment and an ID copy.I was given an email address to email the documents as soon as possible before I left the premises. Exactly 30min after I left the offices I had made the payment and got the ID copy and tried to email the documents, but the email address was invailed. Tried it with my partners email too but still, it refused to send, I then called the offices again asking to speak to the gentleman who helped me and gave me his email address but I could not get hold of him, let a number of messages to be passed on to him including my contact number but there was no communication what so ever, before I knew it, the day was over. My concern now is that we are only a day away before schools open.As early as, 7am I try to send the email again and it still did not go through. I phone the offices around 07h30am and this time I'm on hold for 20min, I decide to choose the Accounts option and finally, someone answers, the lady explains that she is at accounts but can put me through to Enrollment, she puts me through, it rings and NO ANSWER, I keep on calling and selecting the accounts option and keep trying to find the guy that was helping me. The lady eventually gives me an alternative email address and I send the email, it finally went through and that was around 12h30pm.My thinking is that this should not take long now as I still have to buy uniform and preper my child for her first day of big school. An your passed an no email, no communication, so I decide to call again but again, no answer. At this point I am really upset.Eventually, I receive a call from someone at the office around 2pm and he asked me to resend documents and he will process the application, send me the contract to sign and expect a confirmation letter and phone me back in 5min. I am put at ease by this call but sadly I never got any of those.I call again at 16h00, I have given up on the enrollment line so I'd call accounts and ask if guy X is still at the office and the Lady says yes, I then ask what time the school shops close as I still have to get uniform and she says 16h30. At this point I'm thinking I'll get the email with everything any minute now but again no email, no communication.I phone again, and now the offices are closed. Schools open tomorrow and I was confidently assured there is space for my child but I have no confirmation letter. I am very disappointed and saddened by this. Does anyone know how to advise on such a situation?I don't think I have ever been so frustrated but a registration process and lack of communication like I have just experienced.School starts tomorrow, I have submitted everything they have asked for and made the payment but my child still does not have a school to go to.

I began working at SPARK Schools in January this year. Having 18 years experience in the education sector both internationally and locally, I can say with confidence that SPARK Schools is really breaking innovation boundaries in global education. It's also a great place to work. The culture and climate embraces diversity and growth mindset! Love it!

SPARK Schools is disrupting South African Education by offering high quality education at less than most government schools! Amazing teachers, amazing Principals, amazing curriculum. Kids just love going to school, and Sparks Fly (the morning assembly) is just the best!
