I ordered a chicken burger wish tastes really good but the chips wasn't done. I will say the onion rings is a good touch..

My wife & I had a Guinness each, brought back memories from our travel in the UK. Wish we could have stayed longer, such a beautiful location at the V&A Waterfront!

Best fish and chips in the waterfront. Hands down. Don't forget to ask for extra crispy chips. They always do it and compliments the crispy beer batter so well. The beers are also excellent and varied.

Ferryman's in the V&A Waterfront is one of those places that is always good and has really passed the test of time. If you are looking for a fun day out with some tasty beers, live music and enjoy some good food, then this is the place for you. They are very popular so I recommend you make a booking especially for larger groups. This is also a good option for warm or cold days as they have both indoor and outdoor seating areas, and the staff are friendly and helpful. As I mentioned, they frequently have live music over weekends which I love, but unfortunately when we visited the band's volume was so loud that we couldn't even hear each other and we ended up moving to a quieter spot inside the restaurant. I recommend the management look into this as the live music is nice but it was just way too loud. Apart from this, the rest of the experience was as good as usual and I am already planning my next trip back.

My mother and I were hoping to have a pleasant lunch here today, we unfortunately experienced just the opposite. We were seated at a very dirty table, with only one menu between the two of us. We eventually asked a runner to wipe the table and he mentioned he will find a waiter to do so. About 15 minutes went by without someone there to wipe the table, nor get our drinks order. Finally, an exceptionally rude and aggressive lady wiped our table. I say aggressive, as she knocked me with her elbow while wiping and flat out ignored me when I thanked her. Take note, no one still took our order. My mother then informed me that she saw the lady throw a fit when another staff member, who I presume was the manager, asked her to wipe our table. This experience was so unpleasant, we just got up and left. The staff at the entrance were rude, the waitress was ridiculously rude. The only pleasant person was the runner, props to him.Listen guys, I worked as a waitress for 5 years, I know it's kak. And I consider myself a polite customer for that very reason. So, if you want tips, or gain clientele, drop the entitled attitude and at least try to make a customer feel remotely welcome.

Great atmosphere and good live music, real food like you would eat at your Irish pubs in Ireland

We were passing by on a weekday night from dinner with customers. The karaoke attracted us into this venue. The guys had a couple more drinks but by then the DJ/ one man band killed the vibe. Not much later and we left.

A very disappointing experiencing yesterday, very slow service, unfriendly waiter, sticky tables and over cooked food. What use to be an amazing experiencing on all the previous times I’ve been here throughout the 90’s and 2000’s I visited your establishment yesterday for the first time in 5 years I can see the quality of service and food has deteriorated. We were seated at a sticky table and the services was very slow. The fish was way over cooked and dry but overall food was not good compared to how it use to be and was at the point of sending the food back. Also waiters coming to our table not knowing where the orders are meant to go. I would suggest table numbers but overall experience was not good.Ferryman’s use to be the place to go many years ago and was always our favourite place to eat but I don’t see myself returning here, there are far superior places to eat in CT now. Just super disappointing how this place has gone down.

I was bitterly disappointed with the food that I ordered. It honestly was not edible but sadly i am not one who likes to complain, although this time I did to the waitress. I ordered the short ribs, which were totally dried out that i couldn't actually eat it. I have had these before and they were brilliant. At R185 the portion was shocking too. Only two small pieces. Very sad as i absolutely love Ferrymans.

Situated on a perfect location, the renowned waterfront in Cape town, a place many foreigners visit as their first stop after arriving at Cape Town international airport.Dissapointment was waiting for us as we entered this restaurant. Rude waitresses served us half portions of most of our selections, as well as ridiculously overpriced beer.My only assumption is that many foreigners might think this kind of service is the norm in South Africa, or may be feeling generous as SA, is a impoverished" country. Anywhere else this restaurant would close soon as no local regular would visit this location often for a hearty meal and drink.I do not recommend any visits to this establishment. Your money would be bettet spent somewhere else"
