The Old Mushroom Farm Accommodation

This post isn't about the accomodation, although I love everything about 11 on Karkloof and would give it 10 stars if i could. This post is about Integrity. We did an overnight stay and this morning I asked Thabo if anyone ever handed in a pair of sunglasses. We last stayed there in September and in October I realised my really expensive sunglasses are not in their case. Thabo asked me for a description and then went into the office and came out with my sunglasses. The poor man had me shrieking in his ears and hugging him so tight I'm sure he battled to breathe. Thank you to whomever found them and thank you my dearest Thabo for keeping them safe. They have been lying in the office for close on 5 months. Anybody could have just taken them, but nobody did. So very grateful to you guys.

We enjoyed our weekend in this beautiful setting. We loved perusing the shops and were made to feel so welcome. The breakfast and coffee at Home Slice were really good.The cottage, although basic, was well -equipped for self-catering and was comfortable and neat. Popping in to the Farmer's Market next door was essential and rewarding and it is only a ten minute drive to Urban 68 in Main Street to catch the football - there is no television in your cottage. If you plan a trip in summer, take your own fan! You might feel it a little on the pricey side for the cottage, but it is the setting that pretty much justifies the cost.

We stayed at 11 Karkloof in the apartment, which is an old converted mushroom tunnel. It was lovely in every single way. The unit was clean and well maintained, check in & check out was easy and hassle free despite us turning up in the dark, well after their closing time. The apartment was roomy but also cozy and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was tasty warm and didn't feel like a 'cheap' option at all. It's well situated and central to most activities on offer at the Karkloof. I would recommend it to all who ask. We went in the middle of Winter, Luckily there is a well maintained and fully stocked fireplace available, but I would suggest making sure you pack warm slippers as the floor is slabs.

We had a lovely family gathering at the Old Mushroom farm. Everything was very clean, but relaxed so we could just enjoy ourselves. Ideal place for a big crowd, with lots to do without even getting in your car We will be back. X

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Apartment. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. We traveled with our 2 year old and he was so happy to have his own room and loved having a playground so close. We also enjoyed using the walking/running trail. The included breakfast was delicious! Would definitely recommend for a couple or small family getaway.

Great pet friendly accommodation. We stayed in one of the white cottages, one couple and 2 dogs. It was extremely spacious and the kitchen is fully fitted for self-catering. There is a large patio and braai out back and no fences so dogs from the cottages can visit each other, our guys loved having so many guests. Great that you can get some yummy veg/greens from the community garden. There is also great shops and restaurants.

Peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Beautiful views of the farm. I enjoyed being able to stroll to the cafes and bakery on the farm for meals.I was visiting family in Howick, which is very nearby.

It was great! Everything we needed was right there - breakfast, dinner, quaint shops and beautiful surroundings. Our cottage was well appointed and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be back soon,
