Palmiet Rock Pools
A hidden gem one would not think exists in South Africa. It offers excellent braai facilities, shady parking, kloofing, spectacular views, swimming for both the kids and adults and reasonably clean toilets. An uncrowded experience (taking into account its a Sunday in the holiday season), combined with kloofing challenges and words of encouragement from those present created a warm pleasant vibe. No entrance fees, no parking costs, just a natural dream like experience.

Great location for a casual day at the river with friends or family. Come early to avoid not finding space on busy holidays. Good for swimming with floaties and big jumps for those who are brave enough. Entrance is at the side of the bridge.

Beautiful place, just the fire pits were dirty and we had to clean one to use it. I'll probably take a hand-spade with next time.
