Sonnekus Boutique Hotel & Bistro

Having booked and paid for 3 nights I was disappointed. Arriving back at 22H30 I found myself locked out and no one to assist. I called, shouted and knocked for over an hour. No help. Having spoken to management the next morning (after driving from Stellenbosch as I had nowhere to stay) I received no apology or explanation. Further calls, Email, messages remain ignored. Terrible service

I loved Sonnekus. The most awesome experience. From the awesome room, the amazing bed and detail in the room to the absolutely awesome service from the staff. Had the most amazing coffee from Phin ( I had three in a row because it was just awesome)and he even packed me a nice slice of cheesecake at 6h00 in the morning for my flight back home. The butlers waited up at night to open up and to assist if you have any issues. I was completely blown away and felt like a queen. I will definitely be back soonThe room was amazing with the most amazing view and very close to all the different restaurants etc. The beach is right there and you can walk around for hours with the most amazing sunsets, beaches and bars around

Bistro in a good location and setting. Service could be better (reserved table taken when we arrived, average table service, long wait for coffee, one tiny bathroom). Perhaps just teething issues.

Absolutely loved the place, the staff is out of this world! The cocktail’s at the bar are very very good. It’s a perfect get away if you stay in Cape Town and you want to relax and wind down. I would absolutely recommend to all of my friends.

A delightful little sanctuary of style and understated luxury. Good coffee and wonderful meals served with care and attention to detail. The perfect spot for meeting friends or relaxing after a cold water swim.

We had lunch at this gorgeous restaurant opposite Danger beach in St James. My sandwich was scrumptious and my friend’s soup was ‘best ever’! Beautifully decorated with a vintage eye. Can’t wait to come back to taste wines on the Speakeasy

We stopped in here for lunch. Great place. Delicious food. Reasonable prices. Excellent location. We had taken the coastal walk from Muizenberg and then walked back via the road, having nipped into Kalk Bay for some window shopping and a browse through the weekend Market at the Anglican Church in St James. A perfect outing.

This hotel is perfectly located in Kulk Bay and is an absolute delight to stay in. Everytime we come to the area we always stay here. This time we stayed in the 'Urchin' room which was lovely with an ocean view. The small touches make the stay even more special. Would recommend for a very pleasant stay.
