Bosch Service - Mechspec Auto - Midrand

Brent and Swannie always deliver as promised and are very professional. They have serviced a variety of our family's vehicles and always do a good job and have the vehicles on time. I especially like their honesty as they only do work that is required whereas AMNY others will often insist work needs to be done that is often not required.

If I could give them 5 more stars I would! They serviced and fixed my car, kept me informed and didn't charge me an arm, leg and kidney. 100% recommend Bosch Mechspec Midrand!

Very bad experience. I took my car in for service and when it came back it had this squeaking sound when I'm breaking. The first week after the car came back from the service, I took it back and they said they've fixed the problem only to find that they just greased the break pads with some lubricant. After this, there was no noise for only two days. this is very annoying for a company that claims they can solve your problem.VERY BAD SERVICE!

So happy I discovered Bosch Service place. Great service and such friendly staff. Tx Swannie for keeping me updated all the time.

Last treatment i got from this place lead to me give the 2* instead of 5* first i ask if it was ok for me to buy parts samewhere else so they could fit it for me they said yes bought the part after failing to fit it they said its fake part it those not fit try to take it back only to find that they broke samethng on it ,they shop could in take it or replace it. When i tel bosch about it they said why am i accusing them of breaking the part. I the mist of everything decided i went with tgey supplier got the parts fittered the car was good to go tge problem was that my car was not washed as tgey always do when you bring your car for service. When i ask why i was told i need to pay for my car to be wash they can wash i car that came in for job that lasted for not more than an hour

M/Benz wanted to replace my R-Class's control panel at R 40k in order to see what is wrong with my car. Mechspec managed to 'repair' my control panel and then identified a problem with my torque converter which they then re-conditioned. Highly Recommended!

Oh well...Three times I attempted to use them. First, my master clutch went and they told me they were going on December holidays they'll get back to me I must whatsapp my details. They read and ignored. I got the car fixed elsewhere at a fraction of the money they estimated.Second time I needed my brake fluid flushed and no one ever got back to me.Third time, I decided to use them to service my car. I sent a whatsapp as they always suggest we do and I was blue ticked and no one ever came back to me.It's my money mos, why must I beg???

These guys have been spectacular. An honest to goodness family-type arrangement of knowledge and service.-----Edit: So that was then... They originally had my Mercedes C270cdi in for a hard-start issue. They managed to patch that for a while.The car dumped all its automatic transmission fluid on the way out of their workshop after they had dealt with the hard-start problem. I took them at their word that it was purely coincidental. I had a really good feel for these guys. I agreed to their quote (almost the value of the car) for an overhaul of the transmission and replacement torque converter.When that was complete the car came out smoking - literally. They explained it was the injector cleaner, and that I should continue adding 200ml of 2-stroke oil with every tank of diesel. Eventually the white smoke stopped. But the hard-start returned. And then it would not start at all.Professor Youtube came to the rescue, and I replaced 5 o-rings at a cost of R105-00. I did it myself in an evening. Car has started perfectly ever since.But back to the transmission... The shifting gear lever started refusing reverse gear from time to time. And then it would not shift higher than 2nd. I was all out of funds for another visit to MechSpec, as nice as they are.Again, Professor Youtube and Doctor Google: The Mercedes 722.6 transmission is a very successful box of cogs, shafts, and solenoids. It is used by other vehicle manufacturers too. It performs brilliantly if looked after. But it requires a narrow range of automatic transmission fluids, approved by Mercedes. Dexron 6 is not one of those ATFs specified. But there, right on the bill was 10 litres of Dexron 6 ATF (Actual capacity 8,5 litres). All over the internet are warnings about using Dexron 6 in the 722.6 transmission. But here we are.I sent them a mail pointing out their error. The response was almost instant. Swannie called to say they had used Liqui Moly Top Tec ATF 1800, which we use in all our vehicles. We have a drum of it here. And Liqui Moly's web site says it is right for your vehicle" Except it doesn't. It is the Liqui Moly "1600" version which Mercedes recommends. There are also warnings about mixing different types fluids. So here I sit with a transmission needing a transfusion.I do not write this review lightly. But I do so after a complete lack of response from Swannie

Took my car for a service which was great, but when I got home, my car was leaking fuel only to find out that they had damaged my fuel lines, exhaust, and break lines. Drove my car back there for them to fix their stuff up and it has been 2 weeks of excuses. They have made such a stuff up, I had to TOW my car away to find out that there has been more damage to the car. Dont trust these people! On the surface, your car will look fine but if you look closer they do a sh!t job.

I took my car the because of the warranty from eqstra ,they suggested it and this morning I get a call from the mechspes . the guy was very rude D Swanepoel" basically all he wanted from me
