Love going to this theatre, but my experience in the 17th May was nothing but a whole lot of disappointment. The staff at the restuarant could not cope with the influx of diners. Despite arriving 90 minutes before the show started, we never received the meal we ordered. Seemed our waitress never communicated our order to the kitchen. To crown it all, I discovered I'd lost my car keys before the show even started a upon reflection, I was probably a victim of a pickpocket, while making my way throng the throng of people in reception. Here the staff, stepped up to the plate and did everything they could to assist. While I do not hold management accountable for the loss of my keys, I am disappointed in the lack of response to an email I sent to management after the event.

This gorgeous theatre with it’s Art Deco charm is a Camp’s Bay treasure. I was there on Tuesday evening to hear South Africa’s best classical guitarist, James Grace accompanied by flamenco dancers. The show was riveting and the music sublime. The theatre is truly worth visiting mainly because the performers/musicians/ dancers/actors rarely disappoint. Gone on spoil yourself!

Every now and then a truly brilliant piece of theatre is brought to this well appointed, intimate venue. Although somewhat pricey tickets, they do offer midweek early bird discounts that make it more affordable for theatre lovers without deep pockets.

In December I visited Theatre on the Bay to watch the Allan Committee comedy show.Located in Camps Bay - walking distance from the restaurant strip. We walked from Mantra Cafe and took 5 minutes to find the theatre. Safe area.Outside of the Theatre - most amazing ocean view.Inside of the Theatre- The lobby is extremely small with no seating area when intervals take place (hence the 4 star rating) - it gets crowded. The restrooms are clean, they have a bar with limited alcohol options, extremely friendly staff. The seats inside the theatre are okay, it’s not the most comfortable however they’re spaced out.
