From the moment I walked in, there was a toddler crying her eyes out, the stylist did not even care and continued to pull the child's hair, to the extent where the child literally would stand up and cry at the top of her lungs. That was enough for me. It is appalling to see such a salon boast with pride about winning an award and yet children are petrified of going there. Another parent even asked the lady at the front, why so many children were crying at the hands of these stylists. Would NOT recommend!!! They are overpriced just because of the geographic location and not due to the quality of the service.

I booked for a detangling session and the staff has no idea how to detangle hair. The stylist used a brush on dry hair instead of using a treatment cream to untangle my daughter's hair.The staff is not wearing musks.They also have no tactics on how to deal with crying kids. They just tell them that they are being dramatic.The salon only had hand held hairdressers, no solution for kids that want natural hair.NEVER setting my foot in here again.

This place is terribly managed. The one time my kids developed blisters from doing their hair here and the owner apologised. Every time we come here, bookings mean absolutely nothing. Unfortunately the service is needed and something similar is so far away. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD COME AND PROVIDE AN ALTERNATIVE! It’s always full here, there is no doubt about demand for the service, too bad the supplier is pathetic and the staff are extremely rude and do not take any pride in their jobs at all.

AfroKids was a really great find for us. So good that we drive all the way there to Rivonia from the Eastrand.Firstly the ladies are always all smiles and really kind toward my Son (especially when he cries) and secondly they do really good work too.Our favorite part is playing with all the toys once baby boy has finished to get his hair done.

AfrokidsPure REGRET! PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE GOING HERE. Absolutely terrible! Wish I could do a minus rating honestly. What a huge disappointment! I made an appointment 2 weeks earlier and called on the day to confirm (as I was driving from far) only to find that they had not made the appointment however, they didn't seem surprised, which made me think this was a common occurrence. We arrived on time, only to be told we needed to wait 20 minutes yet I had taken my child out of school earlier than normal to be there on time. All of that I could forgive as them being busy and I always try to be understanding of others circumstances and life being unpredictable however.......... this is the part I cannot forgive: My child has been for several hair appointments at other salons for braids etc and this is the first time that she cries. The hair drying - it was rough and I HAD TO intervene when my child looked at me with fear and tears streaming down her face. I looked at other reviews lower down on the list after the appointment - as I could not understand how the ones I read were so positive and then I saw it! Ohers DID complain about kids crying. I feel like I put my daughter through a really unhappy, uncomfortable experience and I wish I had checked more than just the good review. The hairstyle was also not up to standard as there are pieces already coming undone so all in all, the worst salon I've been to! I paid way more than I usually do as well but honestly the worst part is the regret for putting my daughter through this experience. I am not only NOT recommending this place but actively saying: DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILD THROUGH SUCH UNNECESSARY PAIN.

Lovely salon for the kids, the environment is welcoming and promotes various play activities for kids while waiting which makes it the best place to spend your time while you wait for the lovely service from friendly staff. This Salon is highly recommended.

I love their work and I'm so happy with how patient they are with kids. I've been to the place only twice and l have decided that this is where my daughter will do her hair. I like how the environment is inviting and how the room has been given a touch of a kiddie theme. Now isn't that cool?

These ones dont respect us. You call with your airtime to make an appointment only to arrive on time and be told there are 3 kids ahead of you! Imagine! Whats the point of making an app. As if we have nothing to do with our time and after waiting 2 hours the stylist doesnt know how to use hairpeice. What a useless salon!!!!

We booked for 9:00 and they started treating the hair and we left her. After 1:30 minutes we went back to pay only to find out that they have not started and we cancelled the service. And that was not the first time getting such a poor service.
