Cobble Walk Fish & Chips

Quite a disappointing meal, bland fish and greasy brown chips. The order we receive was also wrong. Waste of money.

Consistently bad service

Very unfriendly and rude service. The fish hardly had any taste. The fish texture and toughness was like it had been warmed up in the microwave. Definitely give this place a miss.

Got to the shop on Saturday 7:45 pm and the doors were closed with a chair infront of it. The trading hours on the door says 10h00-20h00 on a saturday

So disappointed in the hake and chips orders this evening.We have lived in the area for 8years and have consistently had good quality food, but the last two months we have ordered from them the food has been bad. This evening both the chips and hake tasted “old” and we had to throw away most of it.I hope they can get back to making fresh fish and chips again.

The dough on the fish was bit hard rubbery, could not really taste the hake. Chips was very little as well.

So Saturday 10.09.22 18:00 decided I'm going to give this fish and chips place a try.Overwhelmed with the menu I asked the cashier how big is the large hake he showed me the sizes .I then asked how big is the portion of calamari that's offered with the combo he showed me the size.Upon receiving my food I asked the guy if everything was there he assured me everything was there.When we got home I wanted to see the portion of calamari and saw they didn't pack it.Opened up the extra piece of fish and it was burnt onto the styrofoam container.Not only did it taste bad I didn't enjoy what I paid for.Normally by other places they add a piece of paper to prevent that.The chicken strips and chips was worth it .But paying that much for fish n chips without receiving my calamari wasn't worth it.Very disappointed and won't support this place again .

Second time we ordered from them. First time fish was off it was discoloured and smelt really bad. Thought i would give them another chance seeing that the reviews are so good. Ordered calamari. The calamari smelt bad n the batter was falling off the calamari almost like it wasnt cooked properly. Both my experiences with this establishment was terrible.

There gatsby's is definitely good value for money - highly recommend!

Chips not good at all and not friendly service at all. Will not go again. Sorry
