I was there to do pictures and fingerprints after I did an online application for a Smart ID and passport. I was out in less than an hour.

I went to DHA Modjadji on the 19th of May for my ID Smart Card and to renew my passport. I took a day's leave from work to do this. After 1,5 hours I was assisted and Mhloti Malungana informed me that I do not have to pay for my smart card as it is my 1st one and I'm over 60. The following day I received a SMS which says that my request cannot be finalised as payment is outstanding. I phoned the DHA contact centre this morning only to be informed that he mad a mistake and I had to go BACK to the DHA office in Modjadji for it to be fixed!! I tried calling them on their landline nr - no one is answering. This is an example of turning a complaint into a compliment. I've contacted Mikateko Nkanyane, the manager at DHA Modjadjiskloof whom assisted me very well. They were offline but she cam back to me after 2 days explaining to me that the SMS that I've received was incorrect and that my ID is already at the printers. She was very helpful and provided timeously feeback.

I have driven the 120 km roundvtrip FOUR times to collect my documents. Every time I gave up after TWO HOURS just to pick up an ID. Why is there no proper system,or just even a separate queue for pick ups?.Why is everything made needlessly tortuous for the public?

No one ever wishes to find themselves in a situation where they have to go to a Home Affairs office. That said, this is perhaps one to avoid more than any other. Security staff are surly and unhelpful. All queuing is outside in the elements. The rate at which people are processed can only be compared to geological processes, so slow and inefficient the experience is.There's no management of the queues. It's a painful reminder of how ineffective the spending of tax money is in SA.

My passport expired and I visit this branch. The professionalism from the gate until I finished my application was outstanding. My passport was back within a week and I am imppressed

Worst place to find yourself in. The booking system is ineffective, you still have to que for the whole day even when you have an appointment. This is appalling !!
