Gondwana Private Game Reserve

Very nice hotel and great service. The huts are very beautiful and comfortable. The guide Armand was incredible and game drive was great but no chance of seeing lion or cheetah. We saw: giraffes, zebras, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, antilopesOne star less because the food didn’t meet expectations for a 5 stars hotel: not seasoned salads or overcooked meats.

Best experience ever! Everyone was so lovely and really seemed like they loved their job. Food was delicious, staff was kind and generous, villas were beautifully designed and animals were outstanding to see! Huge shout out to our ranger Q. He is the man! So compassionate and cared so much about us having only the best time and experience. Can't wait to come back and recommend to others!

I grew up in South Africa and have experienced many, many wild life excursions, safari’s and encounters. THIS place beats them all. Hands down, every day, all day. You MUST experience this level of hospitality, friendliness, service and commitment once in your life at least.

Marvelous stay at the eco camp in the Gondwana Reserve. Everything was perfect and a big shout-out to the staff and particularly Nick who successfully made us encounter 4 of the big 5 + a Cheetah and etc always with a big smile and some jokes.The ecosystem in the reserve looks very healthy and was a pleasure to discover.On top of that service was great and the food was amazing.

It is a huge game farm with a lot of animals in a beautiful setting. Our Game Ranger was excellent. This farm does not do day trips. You must stay in their beautiful lodges, and all game drives are included. It was disappointing to see that the workers on the farm stand with their uniforms next to the R-road hitch hiking to Mossel Bay, I assume, not being transported by the Lodge owners bus...

Had a great experience at the eco camp! Went on several game drives and dined under the stars one night. I felt like 2 nights was a good amount of time to spend here. Definitely recommend the eco camp as it’s a 45 min drive from the main lodge so feels like you’re more remote and waking up in nature.

The experience was not at the expected levelThe cleanliness in the villas was poorThe major problem was the lack of hot water We complained several times without any response!The water was not clean and had a muddy color !Ms. Precious in the reception dealing us with arrogance !!The food in the restaurant is not good and little amount .There is No room service !!!I would not recommend staying here to anyone!!!!!

We had the best experience, Austin our guide was very knowledgeable and couldn’t help enough when driving us around the beautiful reserve. Once our drive was complete we had a delicious meal to look forward to and smiley staff to help. They even turned on our electric blankets in the evening so that we had warm beds to return to after a cold safari drive. Could not recommend Gondwana enough.

We had the most incredible stay at Gondwana. We stayed on the Kwena Huts which were so beautiful and well kept, lounged by the gorgeous pool while zebras visited the garden grounds and cosied up by the outdoor fire in the evening. Everything was carefully arranged and great attention to detail was evident.But of course most memorable of all: our two game drives with ranger Q. Q was everything you would want in a ranger: incredibly knowledgable (on the animals, the flora, the reserve..), witty & funny and a great guide. The drives completely exceeded our wildest dreams, we got to see almost every animal in the reserve, just a few meters away from lions, giraffe, rhinos, hippos and many more. Safety & protection of both wild animals & visitors were of course number one priority.Thank you Q for this unforgettable experience!

Unforgettable is how I would describe our stay at Gondwana. It is really a fantastic experience. We stayed with our 1.5y old child for 3 days/2 nights and everything was perfect. The team was incredibly nice and managed to get us on a game drive with the little one, we stayed in a large villa that could accommodate 6/8 people, the food and service were great and then the game drives were remarkably good. Highly recommended!
