Obtain a permit for entry from the Cape Nature office in Algeria on the way up to Stadsaal. Beautiful place to make a hike with an incredible view of the area.

Historical place - don't expect parties and noise - it's peaceful tranquil and you'll feel the past! 6000years Take the tour, find interesting rock art formations in soft light early in the morning or later afternoon with the dark blue sky in the background. I press thumbs that this unique place will be kept like it is......

Mother Nature at her best. Jaw dropping sights of magnificent rock formations. Bushman's paintings and spring flowers popping up to greet you. A place to wander, ponder, breathe and take on God's gift to Mother Earth. Make sure you get your permit to get the code to the gate. There is a fee for these permit- about R55 when we were there in Aug 2018. Wildcard members must produce their membership cards to get the permit.

Awesome place to review the past history of the Cederberg and the surrounding areas! The formations are absolutely stunning and the views are unrivalled! I have never seen anything so beautiful! The wild life is out of this world and with a careful eye, there is more wildlife here than what appears at first!

We visited on a cold and rainy afternoon in May, but all that was soon forgotten once we began our walk through these strange and wonderful rock formations! This is truly a site not to miss on your tour through the Cederberg. Thank you, Cape Nature for the two extremely neat, clean and well kept veld toilets" you have at the site. Visitors - be sure to get your permit at Algeria Camp or Sanddrift first before driving to the caves. You need a code for the lock at the gate."

What a lovely preserved site of history. Clean and easy to navigate . An opportunity to have a headset or an actual San tour guide to navigate us around would be great. As we would have loved to know more.

What a great experience to show your kids rockart. Easy accessible with any vehicle. Pay cash at gate.

An absolutely amazing place, so peaceful and isolated. The weathering is stunning with so many caves, rock pillars and arches. We bought our permits at the office in Algeria on the 29.9.2020 only to find out that the code had been changed earler that day. A vehicle who was just about to leave gave us the correct code so that we could drive in. Please note that there is no one at the gate which is locked with a padlock for which you need a code. All in all a trip well worth it for any outdoor enthusiast.
