Phiphidi Waterfalls

Beautiful waterfall with braai area and beautiful outing area. Could work so good for family outing and hiking area.

Amazing but the entrance fee is too much just for a person to go view the waterfall

A refreshing experience after such a long time since I've visited the area.

Phiphidi waterfall Is a beautiful nature reserve which is located 6,2 km from the CBD of thohoyandou. All you need is R50 for entrance fee ,R10 for parking. Preferably wear something comfortable. There are different other facilities like a swimming pool,braai,area ,a mini kiosk and accommodation

What wondrous cascading waterfall this place has, and the air is just so calming. Visiting this waterfall is adventurous coz you just don't come and stand to watch the waterfall (as we have anticipated), you have to walk down from the top of the first waterfall, watch the 1st one, walk on the rocks and a small bridge to cross to the other side so you can go down again, to another waterfall. There are like 4 waterfalls as you go down, and each one is so beautiful on its way. The last waterfall is the one you can able to stand under the water.I wish they would renovate the entrance area. It doesn't look appealing at all and I think it's detracting the beauty that the place hold inside.They also offer accommodation. Our visit was a 1 day visit so I didn't get much info on the accommodation. There is also a swimming pool and a braaing area, it's much worth going again and it's on our calendar.Lastly, the tour guide, he's really friendly, patient and helpful as you explore the waterfalls. He was really patient with us as we even asked him to be our photographers in some instances. If you are going for the first time, I suggest you don't go explore the waterfalls without a guide.

Prices vary a lot but love the place. Also it’d be nice to have a guide for those who need assistance. I had to be a guide for my group
