We stayed for several nights in our tent on one of several camping sites. Petros the caretaker was very obliging and ensured that we had water to wash our dishes with. Each site had a light, a steel unit containing a plug point, the light switch and a wash basin. The ablution block was clean with showers and a bath. However the showers needed hooks from which to hang clothing and a towel. The daily rate was very low making it great value for money.

Very Nice place for groups that wish to relax and is not there to party loud. For groups that loves loud music en wanna have fun till sunrise will be disappointed as NO LOUD musix and noise after 10pm. Siloam is surrounded by pensioners who demand their peace and quiet as from 10pm. If you stay loud people will call the police on you for disturbing their peace.

I stayed here with 3 other friends. We booked the backpackers and are totally happy with the service we received. This venue is an absolutely wonderful place to stay, whether you're in the backpackers or chalets, you'll be met with the utmost courtesy. Caroline met us there and offered good food and a wonderful place to sleep. The pool has a beautiful view of the karoo and there is a view point over the dam close by. Definitely a favorite road trip destination of mine!!

Arived late, had no issues getting in at the gate. Booking and payment was done earlier the day.Bathrooms Clean. and had hot water. We camped, and sites where clean each with their own Braai, electrical point and basin.Location on Google maps is not entirely correct, and should be corrected.

The husband and wife host team were very welcoming and friendly. They upgraded us to a bigger unit at no extra charge. If you are looking for accommodation on the Venterstad side of the Gariep Dam it's worth looking at Siloam Village

We had a less than average camping experience at Siloam Village - it is a strange place with a strange vibe and decor, I’m not sure what ambience or type of “village” they are trying to achieve there. Location is near the dam but no views or feeling of openness. There were renovations going on with lots of different rooms/areas so it was confusing where to go on arrival, and unfortunately someone was leaving very upset just as we arrived which didn’t set a nice tone. The camp assistant was friendly and helpful, sadly the manager on site was not welcoming at all and left us outside to wait for the assistant, who couldn’t give accurate information on things to do in the area. The campsite itself was ok and had a wash basin, braai and electrical point per stand with a useful light at night. There are only 5 stands which helped as they were quite small but it was not busy so we felt more private. Annoyingly the bin had not been emptied from previous users. The ablutions worked ok, there was hot water and enough showers and toilets, sadly the finishes attempted to look modern yet were cheap and badly done, with leaking toilets, uneven tiles, and broken plaster already even though it seemed fairly new. You had to walk across a kind of unfinished uneven tar / gravel parking area to get there, although it was close enough to the campsite. I would say it would be ok as an overnight stop (we stayed 2 nights), however I couldn’t help but wish during my stay there that we had paid more to stay at Forever Resorts, even if it was more expensive and busier.

Very nice campsite, but walk to ablution was tricky. No rubbish bins and men's bathroom floor was wet...

STAY AWAY from Siloam Village Gariep if you are looking for a quiet place to get away and a good night’s sleep. In fact, stay away from Oviston. We arrived in Oviston on Friday [5 August] at around 15h00 to look for a place to spend the weekend. There was no where in the village where the noise of loud music and loud motorbikes, blasting from Siloam Village Gariep, could not be heard. This went on for the rest of the day and night.A local informed us that the noise had been going on all day.We went to the “flea market” on Saturday morning and left at 11h00.Below, my comment following the owner’s response:Judging by your response, it seems that Siloam Village Gariep is the sole authority in the Oviston community who decide when Oviston “is indeed a quiet town” or when you feel like welcoming “visitors from all walks of life” and break all noise nuisance by-laws because “many of them travelled very far”.We [my family and I] also travelled very far" to have our weekend spoilt as
