The Oaks Pub and Restaurant
We went to the Oaks for a celebration dinner and it was very dissapointing. The power was off due to loadshedding but the first thing I asked was whether they would be able to serve food and I was assured that they had a generator and could serve us. We were the only 5 people in the place and waited about 90 minutes for our food. We ordered chicken schnitzel which is a favorite that we have enjoyed numerous times before. What a disappointment- the schnitzel was about half the size we normally got and both the schnitzel and the chips were cold. I love the veggies they serve with the food but we got onion rings and no veggies This after we specifically ordered veggies and the waitress even wrote down and read our order back to us. The schnitzel was dry and the cheese sauce almost non existant. When I asked about the veggies the waitress stormed out and only came back with some veggies about 20 minutes later after we finished our meal. We could not order any drinks as the waitress was not around and we're still waiting for the chip sauce we requested. The guy I presumed was the chef came from the kitchen and blamed the loadshedding. He was rude. He asked us how much we were willing to pay and I told him I'd pay but they would never see me again. They called the owner who did not want to come out. I guess I now understand why we were the only people there - with food and service like that they definitely won't see me again.Marnus

Great place to go for breakfast lunch and dinner. One can play pool also and enjoy beverages very friendly waitresses

Great, friendly staff that is eager to help. My first impression was out of date so this is an updated review. My perception completely changed and I am super happy with the performance of the staff. I've yet to taste the food, but I'm sure it will be great

Compared to other nom franchise restaurants and pubs in the area, the portions is actually smaller and more expensive. AND R 20 for a cup of Ricoffee is ridiculous!!!!
