Awesome food and environment, owner was very cool and hospitable and the chefs are very talented. I was also surprised to see that the restraint is pet friendly, was good to see some well manoured pets roaming around and enjoying a snack too. A special thanks to the Owner and the fellow customers for allowing us to get some drone shots!

@1000hillschefschool is situated in Botha’s Hill overlooking the magnificent 1000 Hills Valley.Their fine dining restaurant and bistro-style deli are the practical training ground for their students. Here they practise serving and preparing both food and beverages for paying guests while still enjoying the safety of a school environment. They explore trends and focus on seasonal ingredients, with input to their menus that are revised each term. @1000hillsbrewery

Delicious food in a beautiful setting - best desserts I have had in ages! Only reason no 5 stars is that the wait service is done by trainee chefs, so can be a bit haphazard. But it’s friendly and welcoming, so imagine your favorite cook trying to wait tables. We thoroughly enjoyed it and the food is great value and lip smackingly good!

Had lunch and sampled some of the craft beers here over the weekend. Tucked away off the Old Main Road this is a little gem. The staff are all students and very helpful and knowledgeable about the food. There is a craft beer company on the premises too. We had a sample of different beers, shared a pizza and enjoyed a bottle of wine. All in all a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Definitely will be back. PS. Great view from the toilets too.

Wow wow wow! This place was a culinary experience like no other. From their fresh food bursting with divine flavours to the views and the service, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food was so good we came back to enjoy it two days in a row.Thank you to the owner Desiree for her kindness and Chef Lindelwa, Chef Sizwe and Chef Martin for the warm welcome and excellent food!If you're in the area, you absolutely have to visit 1000 Hills Chef School. You will not regret it.

Spent a lovely afternoon today under the tree on the deck with the family and kids. Seth's service was excellent, the food was excellent especially the pork belly and platters and the guys really enjoyed trying all the craft beer. Will be back very soon

Great service. Absolutely delicious food. And having the brewery on-site means fantastic craft beers too.

Incredible views and outdoor atmosphere. The food is exemplary. We specifically loved the fact that the restaurant and beer tasting is part of an initiative to teach the 1st and 2nd year chefs how to serve and engage with guests.

I came here first about 5 years ago and was really impressed. Everything from the food to the view to the beer was superb. Alas, 5 years later and the more recent reviews on here rung true: the view is still great and beer is still excellent, but the service and food have begun to slide. We sat down for a nice lunch, but unfortunately both our food and the service left a bit to be desired. While we do understand that this is a training institution the prices being charged are for top notch food, so expecting a senior chef to at least check the food before it goes out doesn't seem like we are asking too much. The Chicken Parmesan was beyond tasteless with no cream or sauce anywhere to be found. The mixed berry spritzer was completely bland as well and the Pizzas, while nice, were unwisely put onto cold plates and where almost stone cold after just a few minutes. The waitress was also completely unfamiliar with the menu and at one time even told us that they had no soft drink (Which is why we ordered the mixed berry spritzer) only to see a different waiter bringing Cream Soda to the table next to us shortly thereafter. It's a great place, but just a little more oversight on their students would have transformed the experience entirely to the great time I remember from 5 years ago.

Lovely Mother's Day lunch with the Old Car Club. Service was a bit slow but it was busy. Our food was excellent.
