Charming little restaurant. Food was delicious. Their homemade ciabatta was absolutely delectable and the chocolate croissants too.

Busy restaurant in the heart of kalk bay. The waiter put a lot of effort to ensure us to get a table. Eventually we waited only 10 minutes to be seated and to be served by a very polite waitress. The food arrived after around 25 minutes. We had lamb and tuna, both delicious and very tasty. Good service, good food, highly recommend.

We went yesterday to the Olympia Cafe that we had heard about so much and what an amazing experience it was. From the time we walked in to the time we left the staff was attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious. I had an omelette filled with camembert, rocket and chilli. The omelette was light and fluffy" and I could actually taste the cheese.Afterwards we went to the bakery and it was another great experience. The little carrot cake loaf was perfect for afternoon tea and the chocolate croissant was delicious. The cinnamon sticks are another sweet item that I always look forward to and so was the most delicious pecan tart. It is a great idea to have small ones as opposed to having to buy the "normal" size one. We will definitely go back to taste the other yummy dishes on the menu. Thank you for a great brunch!!"

Overrated, period. I can see this being a spot for regulars (prior to overcrowding), early mornings (prior to overcrowding), and to go pastry and coffee. Beyond that there is barely capacity for crowds. The interior is so loud, worn down, and beyond crowded when full. The food is good at best. The service is diner level with exhaustion on full display but they do their best considering the space is not designed to accommodate how many tables and seats management has decided to squeeze in here. Give your customers and staff some space, I would imagine you could still turn profit as there is a constant buzz about the place due to location.Recommend the fruit cup. Pass on the stuffed croissant(s), not stuffed.

Authentic little spot in Kalk bay , food never disappoints and always fresh with healthy portions. Had white anchovies starter , then seafood linguine (with freshest seafood), a cutlet of Yellowtail and a huge bowl of mussels steamed in white wine and a dash of cream... 10/10

Definitely understaffed and unprepared for busy days.Initially no one to seat us so we just sat down. Our coffee and food was fairly quick so no complaints there. Breakfast was good and not that expensive either. But our waiter forgot my water, had to to go find water ourselves. We then had to ask for the bill three times from two different people and waited around 15 minutes for our bill. It was also chaotic. Would not recommend to anyone who is easily overwhelmed by noise, it’s noisy and there was a constant banging noise throughout our time there. Also not that much ventilation.

Hands down the best place I've ever been to! Perfect small town bakery vibe, with unbeatable eats! Tried their Pecan pie and Lemon Tart and I cannot express how serious I am when I say that I have never eaten anything as divine. From the first bite I melted! Our coffee and dessert night turned into a promise to come back to try their food. Their food menu is incredible and the dishes are absolutely stunning! I've never seen such beautiful food before. I was absolutely in awe of the chef's. Looking forward to going back for supper and wine. If you're in Cape Town make visiting this place a priority trip because you will not be disappointed! I also have to commend their waitresses. We had the lovelies lady waiting on us and she truly added to the wonderful experience. I'd give them 1000 stars our of 5 if it were possible!Edit: Went here again for a late lunch and the food was spectacular! We've decided this will be a place to frequent when in Cape Town! Their desserts are absolutely spectacular.

If you’re looking for the tastiest food in Kalk Bay, with a no nonsense vibe and a great view of the harbor - Olympia is your spot. You won’t be disappointed with breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee. The waiters are extremely professional, and you can watch the chef cook your food. Can’t recommend this place enough.

The most chaotic lunch I have had in a long time. And I say that in the BEST way possible because Olympia Cafe is like a storm in a tea cup!! We arrived at about 14:00 on a Saturday afternoon and the Café was packed, we were lucky to grab the last table right in front of the chef busy preparing meals. Our waiter tended to our drinks order shortly after we arrived and seemed to have about 10 other tables to service, but this did not slow him down. The whole café has a rhythm to it and its a beautiful thing to see.The food is cooked in an open kitchen on the main café floor and the dishes did not stop, we had the Penne Al Funghi and the flavour were just amazing. We had 30 minutes to grab some lunch before a long drive and I cant thank the team at Olympia Cafe enough for the spectacular service and subsequent show put on by the business of their ordinary day!Cannot wait to go back! Would highly recommend this spot.

It is no wonder that this establishment has been going for years. This is simple food, done perfectly. For example, the white anchovies starter were marinated in a flavourless oil, to allow the very subtle garlic, lemon and parsley flavour to do its work on the anchovies. They were sublime.Seafood pasta, in a cream sauce – not swimming in a bechamel with frozen marinara mix. The perfect coating of cream, with fresh seafood between the perfectly cooked linguine.Grilled Yellowtail, fresh – obviously! Cooked to just done, but the skin perfectly crispy. Look at the sauce – shining, not split. Again, complimenting the fish, not over powering it.Bowl of mussels, super fresh – I could still pick up the ocean flavours. A super thin creamy white sauce with handfuls of parsley to, one again, ‘hero’ the main ingredient.Every dish cooked on order in its own pan – as it should be. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this establishment: Service, Food, drinks, ambience – all five out of five.Highly recommended.
