It was a pleasure using Biker Basics to get my motorcycle license. Lloyd is an excellent teacher and his instructions are very clear and helpful. Organizing lessons through Ruth was very simple and a pleasure. I did 3 x 2 hour lessons in the space of 2 weeks and passed my test first time at Milnerton Traffic Department using Lloyd's bike. Highly recommended, thanks again Lloyd and Ruth!

Got my Licence Today! Can't believe it.When I contacted Lloyd and Ruth (Biker Basics) at the end of November '21, it was just to get some help with my riding. I had no intention of getting my licence just yet, because in my mind, I needed a lot more time.In our sessions, Lloyd was able to help me grasp new concepts, address the negatives in my riding, and raise my confidence. After a few weeks, with all the helpful input and consistent encouragement, I made a test appointment, and you know the rest.In this short time, my riding skills have improved (I'm doing things I didn't know I could), and I am enjoying my bike so much more. I am excited to continue the learning and to develop through what Biker Basics offers.Thanks. So Cool.

Lloyd and Ruth are amazing! Lloyd has so much patience and his teaching style is great and effective. Had a bad experience with another motorcycle school which almost put me off and then I found Lloyd and he was fantastic! Passed my licence first time.100% recommend!

Lloyd a very competent rider.Training area filled with glass, no ablutions, no markings and the layout is not the same as traffic department. (Address only given when you book) Making the training very confusing. And also resulting in excessive time being spent on unnecessary exercises.Basic and very necessary practices only brushed over and some not included.Hope this saves someone the many hours of inconvenience or better still gets Bike Basics to reflect and improve their training methods and venue.

I found Biker Basics online shortly after passing my learners. I knew that the 2 year period that the learners lasts for flies by and I didn’t want to do what a lot of people do, and keep getting learners every two years.Booking the lessons:Setting up a few lessons with Ruth via WhatsApp was super easy. She was able to give me some advice based on the info I gave her and my first lessons were booked. I decided to sign up for 2 lessons first and see if I needed more after that.My first lesson:I met Lloyd at the venue and he walked me through everything that I would need to do in the test. Before we started any of that, he observed my riding for a bit and then we started. We went through the full test including the pre-inspection and then repeated it, over and over. I gained confidence with every repeat of each part of the test and all I had to do was listen to and trust the feedback from Lloyd. Big lesson gained in the first session was simply to look where I want the bike to go when turning. This was something I felt like I was already doing, but I clearly wasn’t. Lloyd was able to point that out quite quickly and we worked to get me used to lifting my head more and more. My slow-speed maneuvers felt a lot better by the time I left after the 3hr lesson. The second lesson:By now I had already booked my drivers test and was simply going to use the second session to refine my skills for each part of the test. Between the first session and the second, I kept practicing the things I felt I needed to work on during my daily rides. I think after this session I really felt like Lloyd had more confidence in me passing the test than I had in myself. This was a great confidence booster. Two sessions was all I needed and I passed the license on my own bike, a Triumph Scrambler 900. When I signed up, I expected to simply learn just what I needed to know to pass the test. I had no idea that I would pick up some new tips that would improve my overall riding and skills that I could put to use everyday. Ruth and Lloyd are an excellent team and I will definitely be back to try out some of their other courses like the advanced cornering one.Go ahead and book with them. You won’t regret it.
